A new arena would take over a year to design and probably close to 2 years to build. It certainly couldnt be at the location of the current pmac unless lsu came to an arrangement with the raising canes center downtown. None of this is a reason for it not to happen, but just realize this is not quick.

The PMAC needs luxury boxes and there is absolutely zero way to get them in that building's current iteration.

Why? So a handful of entitled rich people can show their self importance? You know, the ones who only show up when things are going great. One more absurd idea, along with building a new arena and playing in the Centroplex during construction.

Cant believe this. Finally LSU has good men's and women's teams and instead of enjoying the their is instead crying and hand wringing over the facilities.

Every god damned game the same idiotic whining from this entitled generation of fans who can't simply sit their asses for two hours and enjoy the games without clamoring for the unrealistic.

To make more money, to attract boosters who have the money, and to show the world that we're making LSU basketball a priority

So you're fine with a building from 1972 - the third oldest in the SEC - with it's antiquated design, wedged-in seating, shitty bathroom lines, and bare bones fan experience?

If WW wants a new arena, he's either gonna get one or he'll end up at another school in the SEC netting them an NC while we toil in college basketball purgatory.

Why did we build a new box then?
What’s the point of all the suites and champions club?
Your whole statement is short sighted.
The PMAC is a dump and either needs to be striped to the steel or a new arena needs to be built.
An arena is one of the most visable places of a university. It’s a huge revenue generator and hosts 4 teams for games. It could also host other events if built correctly.

I agree with ya needs to happen but Woody says hell no ghat ain't happening. WW has been asking that for last 4 years and have you seen any improvements to any the basketball facilities any time within last 4 years? Woody will ride that arena til the wheels fall off.

Wade has said in the past that he cares a lot more about the practice facility being redone/upgraded than the actual arena.

The practice facility was totally & completely renovated right after he came here. I know, I got a great tour of it 2 years ago.

That’s Wade’s request. And now the roof leaks and they don’t have hot water. Plus you have the fans; those guys including the 4 tickets I always buy who would like a more enjoyable facility where there isn’t a half hour wait for a bathroom or paint chips falling on your head. I’m surprised there hasn’t been a more noticeable season ticket increase because both mbb and wbb performance are light years better now. IMO, build the new PMAC in the track field area and continue the original PMAC until done. With the money this program throws around this is a no brainer. Continue using after the move for gymnastics and volleyball. C’mon Scott. It’s time!

Obviously they can stay the same. Take the Box for example. And speaking of the Box, I always thought the new PMAC would fit great on the site of the old Box. Then they built a garage.

I'm not paying $200 a game to see LSU play every conservative religious college in America.

This is pretty similar to what killed the football game day experience. Priced out the long time fans along with lame tailgating changes and paid parking.

. And there's no reason to build a smaller arena.

This would help the game day experience. Nobody wants to watch a game in a huge half empty arena. Smaller and packed and on top of the court is a good experience.

New arena will take approx 2+ years to complete. Upgrade would take 1 year to complete. In other words if they were to start upgrades now you would possibly see end product by next basketball season..... understand that with the horrific supply chain issues the country is having every construction project is taking long the complete.

There isn't a damn thing wrong with the PMAC! If you can't enjoy a game there then stay your arse home! All the new arena will do is raise the hell out of ticket prices like football has done!
