Agree that it’s disappointing when guys sit out but I’m still looking forward to this one.

One thing I know I’d want to do if I was hiring a kid under NIL - I’d make sure it was contingent he remained on the team and that he played.

I just hate everything about this world that happened after January 13, 2020.

That was the last great day.

I enjoyed the Div II and III more than I did the D1 games. Thoses guys are playing because they love the game. It will never be a business to them.

If youre interested in a programs progression or individual outings bowl games are a nice lagniappe. SMU had a whale of a chance with BYU last night. Don't know why they were determined to go for 2 but oh well.

Coach Brees will get a bit more ratings for ours for example.

The nfl should penalize a player’s draft position if the player quits on his team.

I miss the days 30+ years ago when we watched the games with a high interest to see the matchups between conferences, as they rarely played each other during the season. Bowl games were for celebrating the end of a season in a high profile or fun city and rewarding the team for their work all year. There were not enough bowl games to allow all mid level teams to play in, so there was competition.

As they added so many bowl games over the years, it watered down the system and basically became a participation trophy for CFB. Teams with .500 records started making bowls.

The BCS assisted in starting the downfall. Before then you would have scenarios like #1 playing in the Rose, #2 playing in the Orange, and #3 playing in the Sugar, or matchups between #1 and #3 and #2 and #4. Controversy over who the number 1 team was lead up right until the completion of the bowl season. Yes it sucked that they did not play it on the field, but it garnered high interest. They did not start playing the games until after Christmas, with the Hawaii bowl on Christmas day being the official start.

Then there were no conference championship games, so there was controversy on who should be the conference champ, especially if they never played during the season, and the bowl game would garner interest to compare the teams who played against competitive teams outside their conference, and compare their performance.

The media did their part too. Remember when LSU played in the Cotton Bowl in Jerryworld? The media did not even cover it because it was on Fox. If you watched ESPN you would have thought that the game never existed. No reports leading to the game, no pre-game reports.....nothing. They focused all their attention on the BCS games, or the recent playoff coverage, and pushed the rest to the side.

The 12 team playoff will spark interest again, but they need to purge many of the irrelevant games. It won't happen though because of the money.

The expansion is the only option for helping with interest.

Playoff expansion is the direct cause of your loss of interest AND opt outs.

But yeah, expanding the playoff is the answer.

Expanding the playoff is like duct tape, caulk and tie wraps for college football fans...they think it will fix anything.

The playoff watered down the system...not the amount of bowls. Adding bowls in mid December had absolutely zero affect on the Cotton Bowl, Citrus Bowl, Sugar Bowl.

The Bowl games are more meaningless than they've ever been. They are just something to have on in the background with the sound turned OFF while other things are happening in the house.

These Leagues(SEC, Big 10, etc) need to get together and form an alliance to protect each schools' interests to make sure their players arent being tampered with and vice versa. Schools want more regulation I assure you. This is fuking free for all.
There is a common ground that isn't being met. I mean we went from complete University power over athletes to now coddling guys that don't start by their first second year or they leave.
Costs tons of money to recruit a guy who leaves after 1 year. Absolutely no way this can continue.

We are now missing more LSU players for the Bowl game because they opted out and I really cant blame them.

Purdue’s starting QB, TE, and #1WR opted out for draft prep. Their HC is gone. Their WR led the nation in catches and yards. We dont have to feel alone.

We just to keep an eye on Brees in case he tries to slip into the game!

Even more help proving the point.
Exactly all in all a W would be great but other than getting to 10 wins what’s the value in the game. Hopefully Nuss gets some time in the game. He deserves that much after his show Bs Georgia.

Does it bother you that this is called the fuking rant and people come here to voice displeasure?

Ranting is the same as your whining and crying.
