Maybe ND is the problem, not the coaching. LSU allowed Denbrock to get over the hump, maybe Coach Kelly can as well here soon.

Yea their 180 is pretty funny on this.

You mean like our 180 on Denbrock from last year, too?

Notre Dame fans definitely suffer from TES—Tiger Envy Syndrome.

No, bub.

But this board was singing Houses’ praises last year and wanted Denbrock run out of town.

Now it’s a total 180 on both accounts. So yeah, make fun of ND fans always, but also reconcile that our own fanbase is also very reactionary.

Honestly, I wasn't crazy about him as an OC in year 1. He did a good job with JD this year and calling a lot of read option plays with numerous options, etc. But Daniels made everything look great. He was the star. Denbrock's run plays and a lot of his offense doesn't get very creative and I think LSU will need much more creativity next year.

Sucks continuity-wise, but oh well.

We were 0-2 against him so I'm not sure why

Meh, I always thought BK was a solid coach.

To the OP's point, it is funny that Notre Dame was looking for an OC last year as well and weren't interested in Denbrock.

Yeah I don’t think that’s true. I would bet he was mentioned many times when ND made the playoff and when we played them in bowl games. But either way, I’m not talking about how many posts were made about him on TD, rather the general thought of him not only by LSU fans but other CFB fans as well

I don’t hate that Denbrock is moving on. I wanted him gone after year 1. I think JD and the WR core this year improved so much and it overshadowed Denbrock’s mediocre play calling

It's tough to make fun of what ND fans are saying when you have LSU fans saying stuff like this.

Haha! Have you spent much time here in the Rant? Especially after first possession of every game?

Other than the lead up to the bowl games in 2014 and 2017, you are correct.

Not all of us were calling for the man to be fired last season. I think he had some struggles adjusting to some of Daniels’ strengths, but Daniels definitely had problems with his confidence letting ball go into tight windows and deep and I think that really hampered the passing offense at times. Also, the OL was very hot and cold last year, especially early in the season. There were a few games when the run game just didn’t produce anything. I thought Denbrock did fine, all of those things considered.

Denbrock’s play calling wasn’t radically different this season. We just had more experience and executed a lot better on many levels.

No we didn’t! We lost to BK twice, if I remember correctly.
