Let's assume your right and I'm wrong. Give me a LOGICAL explanation why any LSU fans would be constantly posting negatively about Wade. Good luck.

By the way, anyone with a brain realizes that football and men's basketball will always eat first, but we're talking about baseball bros here.

My guy is still holding strong that we aren't firing CMM bc boosters don't want to pay the $. It was a complete 180 from everything he has said in the past (that Wade would be coach next year). I really hope he's wrong this time. That being said, if the boosters change their tune and pony up to fire CMM, Will Wade will be the guy.

Also the NIL stuff at State is true. They aren't even close to what they originally promised him.

Is NC state really a fairly good basketball school? They aren’t historically that great, do they care about basketball, yes. However they are third fiddle at best in their own state. LSU pays more now and will in the future. If you can’t deliver on NIL promises you aren’t good enough in whatever sport it is.

I'll put it this way, basketball is the No. 1 sport there. They have won two national titles in that sport in my lifetime there. You can minimize or rationalize that but it's a fact. They care about basketball year round in a way that honestly - LSU never has or will.

I was here at the literal height of LSU basketball in the early 80's - and I know all about packed PMAC's - Superdome Games - all that - I lived it. It is the No. 1 sport for me - but I'm in the vast minority - even in the darkest days of football, basketball was never the No. 1 sport here and it never will be and I'll debate that with anyone - hell right now it's the No. 5 sport in interest here.

I'm hearing boosters are pushing to keep CMM another year.

I do not support this, we need a change. But, it is what I'm hearing.

Violations were an excuse. Scott and Tate wanted him gone, period. Scott was arrogant enough to think he could replace him, like most of his decisions, he was wrong and cost LSU a ton of money.

It was mainly Tate, Scott essentially just did what he was told to do by Tate.

Pretty much every insider/booster on the premium boards are saying he is without a doubt gone and they've been targeting Wade for months

I think the people relaying (media, some people you might hear) he might stay another year are just trying to drum up more $ support, it's not a matter if he's staying or going, he's gone. The money to buy him out is very minimal in grand scheme of things. They want more money for the next staff to go get a roster.

People can talk above history all they want but the simple fact is that LSU in the SEC is a way better job for the future than NC State in the ACC and it really isn’t even close

Nc State will have a hard time keeping up going forward

This coming from someone on the Wade side of things not the LSU side of things or media. It is a complete 180 of how they have felt up until a few weeks ago right before Mallet became the head of the BoS. I really hope my source is either wrong or the Wade camp is intentionally saying things like this to quiet down rumors.

Are those same booster not intending to donate to NIL for the basketball team? Because if they plan on donating then that's a wasted expenditure with McMahon as HC. If they don't plan on contributing to NIL, then what's the point of keeping the guy to produce sub-part results?

MM's portion of the buyout next year is about $2.5M. If paying that means a corresponding $1.5M - $2M reduction in what would otherwise be spent on NIL, then it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. A bad coach is not going win to any significant degree just because he has a highly paid roster. If that were the case then Johnny Jones would still be at LSU. If that were the case Kentucky would be running away with the SEC instead of having the same record as Texas A&M and Mizzou. If that were the case Steven Pearl would be aligning his roster for a return to the Final Four rather than fighting tooth and nail just to stay over .500 (overall).

That LSU's boosters don't want to pool the funds together to try to make a "Kiffin-like" hire in basketball is totally understandable. Particularly because such type of hire is very unlikely anyway. Not just for LSU basketball, but basketball as a whole. But to continue to donate to NIL and pay for two new or re-signed assistant coaches (2 ACs on this staff are on expiring contracts) while punting on fixing the ACTUAL problem is absurd.

But maybe the old adage applies. "A fool and his money...."

I’m not saying that I’m saying Ole Miss to LSU comparison in Football is a way bigger gap than NC State and LSU in basketball. NC State is. Fairly decent basketball program and has won two national titles from what I can remember at least. Ole Miss will never sniff one

I think we can rule out the bluest bloods from wanting Wade. It’s hypocritical but they all hate Wade.

All of them hate Wade?

North Carolina, Duke, Kentucky, Kansas I’d say would never hire him. I think with the current land scape and what looks to be the future that LSU could fend off most schools.

Do you think that LSU is currently a top 10 basketball job in the country?

The reason you are having trouble remembering is because that last NC was 43 years ago. Since 2000, NC State's average finish in the ACC has been 8th. Not nationally. Within their own conference.

NC State's marketing team should hire LSU fans...because LSU fans seem to have a great ability to make the NC State program seem WAY better than what it is.

First of all, I hope you don't claim to be an LSU fan.

Second, what about Wade has suggested he would fail?

I guess the LSU distraction is why he's lost 3 of the last 4 games

If they are going to fire McMahon this is the only way it makes sense with the buyout and monies involved. Gotta have a coach they want ready to come. I still believe this team finishes in top half of league with a healthy DJ and Reed but unfortunately that didn’t happen. I’ve heard it’s a done deal with Wade coming. We will see.

I heard that Wade Rouse the University President at LSU calls Will Wade once a week and wants him there. I have also heard we didn't meet our NIL commitment we told Wade we'd hit. I have heard this from people close to the NIL and high school basketball/college coaching scene.

Oh baby it actually could be happening

I still believe in tGeneral. He would bring our program to glory with no restrictions on paying players. He had our program moving forward and getting better every year until the BS NCAA investigations and Woodward bending over for the NCAA
