I always thought if he could have been developed more he would have been an absolute superstar. Speed, his vertical leaps were off the charts. He was a raw player when he signed. Imagine him with Shaq and Maurice....AFTER Chris Jackson and Stanley left if Dale could have coached him up even more. His last 2 years he averaged 15 pts a game and that was with sharing the load with Shaq and Maurice and then Great. If he had been able to develop a credible outside shot he would have been truly dangerous.

TJ Pugh - 6.5 assist per game, 3rd best in a single season at LSU. 2 steals per game, shot 36.8% from 3 for his career at LSU.

Jose Vargas was a member of LSU's famous 1986 Final Four team under Dale Brown. quote:

Pac-Man skills were elite.

This one. His turnaround jumper from about eight feet was completely unstopable.

Richard Krajewski.
6'10" F from North Dakota that had to get abused in practice by Shaq.

I remember a game with one or two seconds left (Georgia maybe?), williams rolled the ball down the court. Nobody touched it. Other team got the ball back under the basket and of course made it. Lost by one point.

So like Will Wade then...i mean on one hand yall bash the best coach lsu has ever had in basketball for getting knocked out of the trny early, despite of all his success before that...and in the same breath you worship Wade, and he has never sat the bench in a sweet 15 game. Thats my only issue with Wade.

But John Williams was an All-American level player that led LSU to the 1986 Final Four.
Could legit play all 5 positions on the court. One of the most talented to ever come thru LSU.

Actually Daryl Joe was the catalyst for that 87 team that got screwed out of final 4.

He was a maniac on defense.
Tragic that he died so young.

Darryl Joe was a catalyst for the offense in '87.

quote:the funny thing was, he wasn't the 'star' on the OPHS basketball team; that was Don Usury. He was GOOD, but he was always #2 in Don's shadow. Then he decided to go to LSU and kicked arse. He was 2 grades ahead of me and the very first LSU basketball game I was able to attend i watched him do a behind-the-back pass to Ricky Blanton on a fast break and thought that was the coolest thing i had ever seen.

hooked from that day on LSU basketball and i was lucky enough to be as LSU from 85-90 and saw a lifetime of amazing moments.
