well that is depressing

but expected. Anyone expecting much progression from jennings is bound for disappointment. Either harris steps up or the offense will be LF right, LF left, toss dive

Harris got hurt against auburn, maybe that limited him in the things he was better than Jennings at, scrambling and his arm strength. I never played qb, but I'd have to imagine if you have a hurt ankle it could cause problems stepping into throws, like throwing a pick against UK.

he threw 5 total TD's against SEC teams. to put that in perspective blake sims threw 20 against SEC competition.

jennings didn't throw a single TD for 4 straight games

Comparing a 5th year senior to a true sophomore 1st year starter, but ok.

it was blake sims FIRST year as a starting QB with a brand new offensive system and OC... 5th year senior or not.

when jennings took over, he had more time in the system than sims had in his. fact.

ok lets ignore stats if you want. Eye test alone, can you tell me that Jennings showed anything that made you think he's capable of being a decent SEC starter?

It is what it is. He's what we have. Until Harris decides to take the job, Jennings's the guy.

It means as soon as the obviously more physically gifted QB decides to do everything in his power to win the job, he will be the starting QB of this team. Anything short of that, and he doesn't deserve it.

There's absolutely no reason in the world this should be a competition. Fans anger is misplaced. You should be angry at Harris, not Miles.

People just think Les Miles Sabotaged him by starting against Auburn

Not sure about that. But it was a mistake... He should have used better judgement by starting him AT HOME against UK.......

If Harris can't win the job, something is terribly wrong. The next great hope will be Franks.

Exactly my point.

I'm simply not a proponent of giving him the job and letting him figure it out. If he's not busting his butt now what makes anyone think he'll do it once he has the job? I don't doubt he's working hard but it isn't enough, whatever he's doing.

We get lots of soundbytes from professionals these days, so it's easy to remember the right things to say if you watch sports on a regular basis, i.e. take it one day at a time, work to get better every day, blah blah blah.

At some point his actions have to match his words. We should expect more from Harris. Kid has to make a choice and start sacrificing. Whatever he's doing now, it's not enough.

This is what is starting to get annoying, people seem to be falsely accusing Harris of having a poor work ethic based on things said by Les. Cam Cameron even had to clarify this, much of what the coaches are referring to is on the field stuff that not many freshmen are prepared to do. Its not due to a lack of commitment on his part back

Where did I say he had a poor work ethic?

I look at what I see and I reach a logical conclusion. He's not the starting QB, so he needs to work harder. That's not to say he isn't working hard now. But whatever it is, it ain't enough.

Maybe he needs to work harder than every other player on the team. Maybe that means he can't be a normal college student, hang out and have fun like everyone else. Such are the sacrifices that a lot of people with great talent make to be great players.

What Cameron says actually supports what I'm saying. He's being asked to learn a lot of stuff that most other QBs aren't asked to learn at this stage. So maybe he has to put in the type of work that most others don't have to put in at this stage.
