after that AJ shitshow against NM State, they should have either stuck with him or just said 'frick it' and gone with harris with the future in mind.

Right. People point to the Auburn game (a good team) and forget what happened vs NMSU.

No one forgets anything. I think people weigh them differently.

Just my opinion, but I would expect a QB like Harris to play brilliantly against a team that

A. Didn't prepare for him and
B. Simply didn't have the athletes to contain him

When he played against a team that would not cooperate with either of the above conditions, he struggled.

How much of that game did you watch? Are you under the impression that Harris looked like Mike Vick against them or something? They didn't prepare for a QB to beat them from the pocket? lol, if anything, that's another strike against Jennings.

Cmon. His BEST game was bad

Some are so extreme in their expectations that it becomes down right silly.

You honestly consider 250 yds of O with 2 TDs and no ints for a true So. starting his 1st as the guy away from TS and vs. a NR team as "bad"???

We will have to agree to disagree.

You can have two different pocket passers and you'd need two different gameplans.

However in this case we have one player that is much more of a mobile threat than the other. Of course you need to gameplan for each QB individually.

The same idiots were celebrating when Miles announced Harris would start. When he didn't play well, the same morons blamed it on Miles for "sabotaging Harris"
Sabotaged? Nah. I'm not someone who thinks Miles is calculated. But, coached oddly? Yeah.

Consider this oddity. In 2 quarters of play, Harris threw more passes than Jennings did in ANY half of football all year. Hell, more passes than Jennings threw in the 2nd half of the AU game despite us being way behind! I mean, it was odd in that the QB who prior to that, Miles hadn't seen fit to think beat AJ out suddenly, was being shown MUCH more confidence in than AJ had been to that point or would be thereafter. I mean, Jennings has NEVER thrown 28 passes in a game but Harris, in his first start on the road in the SEC as a freshman, threw 14 in a half.

I mean, that is odd no matter how you slice it. Sabotage? Nah. Odd coaching? I mean cmon.

Exactly. So Harris stunk against AU.

Um, AJ looked EQUALLY as bad if not worse against f'n NMSU and was STILL shitty when he was put back in after AU.

It aint like he came back in and you thought, "ok, he learned from being benched......the dude STILL was bad.......bad..........bad".

Right, Auburn was pretty good, NMSU was awful. Yet, the Auburn game is frequently mentioned as the one thing that held Harris back for the rest of the year?

One odd thing about Miles is that he correctly knows that having your QB constantly thinking if he goes out there and plays poorly, he'll get pulled, that's not good. So, he's kinda loathe to pull out the Spurrier hook at the drop of a hat. I get that. Not an uncommon view.

But, the strange things is, this has always only applied to the original started for Miles.

Man, if you are the backup, you better go in there and light up the world...........WITHOUT FAIL, or you'll be put in witness protection thereafter.

JL goes 8-0, most efficient QB in the SEC, bad half.............gone........forever.

BH plays bad on the road against AU after starter stinks on ice for game after game, GONE.......forever.

It's fricking weird. The original starter can shite the bed repeatedly and he gets to keep shitting. Backup? Yeah......go in and be perfect or else.

Yep, this is what's strange to me.

It's not weird at all, the starter knew how to make the correct reads for the running game to be successful, the backup didn't. There is simply nothing more to it.

How many reps at practice you suppose Harris got after the high ankle sprain he received in that game?

I find it hilarious that there are fans who actually believe throwing an injured, inexperienced QB who heavily relies on his mobility, into games with limited practice & an already limited knowledge of the playbook would have been a good idea. It's not hard to see why Jennings was the better option even with his shite play. I'm all for Harris taking over the job because he has the better skill set but some of the posts in this thread are beyond stupid.

How long was his ankle hampering his mobility cause ya know, Miles said SEVERAL times thereafter that he was going to "try" and get Harris in. He never said, "well, Harris is a bit dinged right now".

Me think you're the one who is stupid.

Pretty much. I don't know why people are going out of their way to avoid acknowledging this.

why would he have given the upcoming opponent's coach that information?

Miles is either a vindictive a-hole for this, or he had the foresight to realize the possibility of The Mulligan... personally I think either of these possibilities is equally far-fetched.

They just came off getting to the NC game bonehead........
I am not talking about games against LSU...... The only loss they had the year before in reg season was to LSU.. That's what I mean by revenge... There are games like that in certain years.... Certain coaches can get a team UP for certain games and that was one of them........

In what other game did we allow three scores within a quarter of play?
