If Mike S. is correct it sounds like they want him to run scout team for a second year in a row and they don't want to do that.

That doesn’t make sense. LSU has Rickie Collins coming in and he would be the QB who will run the Scout team. I think this is a made up controversy which is completely false.

fair shot for second string if Daniels

To me this sounds like the QB competition is pretty one sided (which most of us suspected). We got us a more expensive Les Miles when it comes to QB play apparently.

I mean you really only have to look back at BKs past quarterbacks to understand it’s not his greatest area of expertise.

Pretty terrible state of college football when no QB wants to be anything other than a starter or the backup by their redshirt freshman season. But this is the new normal

This is what every QB worth his salt has always wanted. The ability to move around if they are not is the only thing that has changed. And the smart ones are not going to move willy-nilly.

How would he pass up Nussmeier?

By being better. There is this thing called practice, and LSU does it while you are not looking.

Caleb Williams also took over at OU as a true freshman

That wasn’t the plan… it was because Rattler sucked.
Daniels did not.

If......if he walks and goes to another big name school for next year, he rides the bench there as well. At worst he sits for another year but then has 3 years to show what he can do.

Why do people do this? It’s pure speculation and projection on your part

I doubt this is true, WH knew he was red shirting this year. His dad did like 90 interviews saying the diss not want to see him thrown to the wolves at LSU and start as a freshman. WH will play if he is the best QB.

Nussmeier was better than him this past year and neither of them got significant game experience other than Nussmeier playing in the SECCG. So tell me again, how is Howard going to pass Nussmeier
Howard's position on scout team may have nothing to do with his ability or preparedness.

His dad basically forced a RS, so why would he be anything other than 3rd string/scout?

That does not tell me where Howard will stand now that the RS is complete

[quote]I find it hard to believe that we have a scout team practicing separate from the rest of the team.[quote]

Its not that hard to figure out. We have multiple practice fields at the facility.

The scout team offense does not practice with the first string and second string offense. (That is what he is talking about.) (They are not on the offense practice fields.)

The scout team offense is on the defense practice field running against the first and second team defense.

I don't think he can improve enough to beat out Nussmeier without game experience, which he won't get.

It’s like you think only the things the fans see are all that counts. You have no idea how they look in practice/drills a player can most certainly improve with hard work in the offseason

Play Howard during the bowl game. Purdue is a decent team and we will get to see what he's got. We know what we have in JD and Ness.

Here is now it will play out if Daniels is coming back

Nuss will transfer out because he is good enough to start now and he has little time left. I predict he goes to TCU. Lots of connections there.

Daniels will start
Howard will be 2nd string and everyone’s favorite player. He will see time in 2-3 games

If Daniels does not come back….
Nuss stays and likely starts
Howard is backup and likely sees time in 2-3 games

In no scenario does walker transfer

Heavy sigh, the coaches get to see that every day, they are more likely to try and win the game than to appease a small segment of the fan base that clamors for the back up QB

Lol. Yeah, I don’t get that logic from the previous poster. Nuss has plenty of time. It’s why he redshirted.

Not one of this year’s losses were on Daniels or the offense.
You are joking right? 13 points in one and 23 in another in this era of football is poo poo.
