Please be good LSU. Please. Please be upper mid pack.

After seeing Duke’s recruiting class from 2024, everyone else may be playing for second place.

I am a Mcmahon supporter and a Wade fan . It is possible to be both. But I understand some of the negative Wade comments which are done to poke those that refused to accept Mcmahon and give him a chance after Wade was let go. Time to move on.

The excuses will be beyond tiresome if LSU is not competitive this season.

What does everyone consider competitive? Last year they tied for 7th in the SEC (w ATM) and were very close to making the March Madness tourney. They beat Kentucky, Arkansas, A&M and S Carolina, who all finished ahead of the Tigers.

Is just making the dance this year “competitive”? What should we expect? Thoughts?

We were not on the bubble and got blown out a handful of times. It would also be nice to have more of an identity. We had some very, very bad OOC losses though we did take some positive steps in conference play.

It’s difficult to be in contention when you don’t do anything discernibly well. I’m tired of Alabama scoring 150 points on us when we play play the best and compete with the best.

A lot of people are still too stupid to understand that college basketball in 2024 isn’t some slow grind to build a program.

Our OOC play cost us dearly in 2023-24.

I am hoping we can be at least 10-3 in OOC and at least 10-8 in the SEC. 20-11 in his third season is good, IMO.

For those saying he is recruiting better than expected…..yada yada….due to NIL. As if Wade recruited better without the benefit of NIL….oh wait….thats why he isn’t with us anymore…he paid when you couldn’t legally do so….hence the top 5 class and top recruits

I am all for giving McMahon "a chance" as his supporter's request.

But the results of the first two seasons do not meet my expectations.

He should be expected to have a team in the top half of the SEC this year and play in the NCAA tournament. If he can't do this in 2024-25, then the following season should be a make-or-break year for his job.

That was the advantage that Wade had. He was paying for recruits when most schools did not. Now everyone is able to pay recruits and CMM has to compete with that while building a program from scratch.

I know you don't like to hear it, but McMahon is gaining interest by having a player friendly offense and as importantly developing players' individual skills. That's why this year's class and next year's will be particularly strong. If we land Cenac we will have a legit top 10 class.

Bawawawawawawawa bawawawawawawawa

Everyone paid recruits!!! I miss paying recruits. It was a lot more fun winning the SEC and making the ncaa tournament every year.

As basketball being my favorite sport people debate what is successful and competitive. In my opinion, March madness is the best time of the year for sports and even better when ya got a horse in the race. I get we are not Unc or Kansas who expect to be in it every year, but judging by our basketball history, I’d take being in it 2 out of 4 years. Anything else is lack luster and us basketball people do t wanna wait 3-4 years in between appearances. So that my answer, gimmie a 50-50 chance every year

Not asking for much! Just make the tournament every year and win a game or 2 every few years. Not expecting the final four every year but it would be nice to pick LSU when filling out a bracket.

You're kidding yourself if you don't believe that nil is the reason we landed a top 50 out of state player in basketball. I'm glad to know that lsu basketball is getting enough of a portion of the pie to push towards being competitive again.

What’s your point? Like money wasn’t the reason Wade was getting players?!

McMahon was not horrid in year two and neither are the Tigers near the bottom of SEC basketball. LSU finished at .500 and in the middle pack of the league last season, which is competitive by any reasonable measure in a strong conference.
