WTF are you talking about? Wade did more than any other coach in the history of lsu in his first 4 seasons… he was able to do this despite all the media and his own Athletic department not having his back. He won despite it all. We had the brightest early star head coach that I have seen in any young head coach in college basketball. If the years we had with will wade are the floor lmfao wtf do you think his ceiling could have been???

frick Al you mfers that wanted him fired and think we are better off now.

Yep! Moral victory university, great a 500 season because of MM elite recruiting if a coach can't recruit in today's college basketball, then he's not trying time to cut bait move on and get someone in here that is actually going to fricking get this basketball team turned around! Enough of these fricking coaches that can't get the job Done!

I doubt he gets transfers as good as Wright and Baker.

In two transfer cycles while operating under the cloud of possible draconian NCAA sanctions and a losing season in his first year McMahon landed:

K. J. Williams - All SEC level player
Jordan Wright - All SEC honorable mention player
Will Baker - Double figure scorer
Jalen Cook - All SEC talent if attitude issues are resolved
Hunter Dean - great complementary piece and team leader
Trae Hannibal - Became high level player in last half of year -
Carlos Stewart - Injuries curtailed his season but was all conference in mid major league
Derek Fountain - Good complementary piece, inconsistent
Cam Hayes- Good complementary piece, inconsistent

It is logical to expect McMahon may have even better success in the portal this year following a successful season and probable NIT tourney appearance. There are fewer holes to fill now provided Ward, Reed and Williams return and perhaps a more humbled Cook stays and plays up to his taalent level in a controlled manner.

The day Will Wade was terminated, LSUMBB started that day in good shape with great talent on the way to LSU. Scott Woodward chose to fire WW which was his right. But what happened after WW was fired is NOT WW's fault...it was
SW's fault. And I give CMM a pass for the 22-23 season, but our poor performance this season is on CMM, IMO. Note: 17-14 is a poor season at LSU, IMO.

I like Matt McMahon and hope he does well at LSU since I am a longtime season ticket holder and big LSUMBB fan. I look forward to the 24-25 season.

I like our recruiting class coming in. I think we will have a good portal so long as we make the NIT

I do like the PG and big we have coming in. I don't think it is quite enough to get us over the middle-of-the-pack hump in the SEC. The portal will have to provide players to replace some production, I think.

You are a bit more dialed in than I am in basketball, I haven't seen any rumors about who may be available via the portal this season yet, have you.

Do you EVER have anything positive to say? Maybe Woodward should hire you as a consultant since you're a basketball expert.

In dire need of a true pas first point guard, a wing who can shoot consistently and a big to protect the rim and get tough rebounds

LSU couldn’t get a better coach due to all the NCAA rumors.

CMM was a stopgap. He will not have his contract renewed. I anticipate the next guy making a bigger splash

Name it and it’s not will wade at all fool never won anything at LSU and left it far worse than it was before he got here.

Will Wade was a decent coach. Nothing more. His teams consistently got run out of the gym by Nate Oats. With the way these idiots pine for him, you would think he’s Wooden, or something. He was not a championship coach, and was not worth keeping around. Scott did the right thing.

I'm not sure how logical it is or isn't but it will be my expectation and should be everyone's.

My main concern after last year was player development because we got worse both individually and collectively across the board. My thought was you can have less than stellar talent but do they improve. They did not last year, they in fact regressed.

This year at least after OOC play, I started to finally see some development and improvement, which gave me some hope.

The year zero stuff is straight up enabling rationalization, but we can all agree it was not an ideal situation.

And going 9-9 in the SEC IMHO was an overachievement, the pre-conference schedule was not - hence the reason we might not even make the NIT.

So next year improvement needs to continue...again it should be the standard and the expectation and I hope we do.
