Understand. Now, for future reference, how long would you be content with the program at this level? Not trying to be an arse, really just want to see what people expect for the long term outlook of the program. How long should it take to step up, if that’s what you expect, long term?

That would be on the inside of the fringes of this forum.

So you’re just ignoring that Wade won the SEC and his team got to the sweet 16 in year 2? I guess that’s on brand for you since you pick and choose your facts while ignoring others depending on how they fit into your narrative. I won’t even get into the goal post moving because it’s obvious double standards and deflections are just your bread and butter.

No. I'm looking at the fact that he's had fewer conference wins EACH of the 3 seasons since then. Regression.

Definite overreaction to call for replacing Wade after the current skid. A lot that's just backlash against the degree to which he's been deified with just as little actual substance.

Wade's main coaching strength has been to try to out recruit and out-athlete you to turn games into a bit of a helter-skelter physical war where the better athletes and offensive playmakers used to that style make more winning plays

He hasn't shown as much inclination for anything aside from that "controlled chaos" approach as far as demanding better defensive fundamentals, reigning poor offensive decision making into a better team concept etc etc etc . . .

Maybe that's enough to keep winning in a SEC that's already stronger than it was when he arrived and getting deeper as well as make some deep tourney runs in the future.

However, skids like this do throw into relief the persistent criticism that there may not be much to fall back on when he doesn't have offensive talents that will simply make more individual plays coupled with rebounders that chase down their bad shots on the offensive glass and defenders that will out physical the other team into turnovers.

I’d be happy with top 4 in the SEC and making the tourney every year as a baseline, with a deep run every few seasons. Wade’s been allowed to coach in one (1) NCAA tournament since he’s been here so we can’t really make a judgment as to how far he is or isn’t able to take the program in that regard. Like I said, I’m of course nauseated with how the last couple weeks have gone. And of course Wade isn’t without his flaws. But I’m more than happy with the current state of the program and will take it any day of the week.

So unless he wins 16 conference games every year he’s regressing? Again apply your standards to everyone, don’t just pick and choose them to forward a narrative.

I mean, this is a basketball thread. But since you asked

Baseball should IMHO average out to host a regional and go to super every year. Omaha roughly every other year or maybe slightly more. Win a natty or make the championship series every 3-4 years.

Football is tough to say. At an absolute minimum we should win at least 9-10 regular season games every season. Playoff run every 4 or so years. Win a natty or two every 10 years.

This is all just off the cuff, but it’s the best I could answer at this point I guess, with such a vague concept as an individual’s standards for a program

Good lord man. He's won fewer SEC games each year than the preceding year since 2019.

16
12
11
TBD (something less than 11)

It's data. Not narrative.

Oh there’s a lot.

You think the basketball program is on god footing right now with a new AD and a coach that contract expires almost a year from now. The seat will only get warmer. Especially if we fail to make the tournament. Wade will be packing his bags.

It’s selective data like I said. We’ve gone from 7 conference wins a year the decade prior to Wade to over 10 per year since he arrived including the highest peak and highest floor records of any other coach during that time. That’s data, leaving out pieces of information just because it goes against your narrative isn’t data, it’s manipulated and dishonest garbage. Like I’ve asked multiple times, apply your standards to everyone, but you won’t do that because you’re incapable of being objective.

As soon as I realized who Matt Trent was I didn’t need to read anymore. This clown seems to think he’s a comic but he’s an even bigger fail at that. My channel gets changed as soon as his face shows up. I’m there to hear intelligent sports not an asshat humoring himself with his pathetic schtick. Get rid of him now WBRZ before you run off all your sports audience.

Bruh, relax. Jan. 14th projections were.
Auburn
Baylor
LSU
Duke

LSU is not a championship, they never were. Big win over UK early on but that was before they got rolling and illegal screened their PG knocking him out of the game.

It was very obvious that we needing a big man last year. He over compensated. I agree with him, that was a roster management mistake.

Kentucky lost to us without their starting PG. The ignorance on this site is amazing when it comes to bball.

We havent had our best guard who is a ball handler all season, what's your point? Am I supposed to feel bad Kentucky had Wheeler get hurt early in our game when we havent had Adam Miller the whole season and they still have multiple ball handlers like 5-star Tyty Washington and 6th year senior Davion Mintz available? Boo fricking hoo.

We also easily beat Tennessee early on then got blasted by them later on dealing with more injuries and not having a ball handler that game.

The people acting like the injuries that have stacked up on this team dont really matter here are completely clueless. The difference between earlier in the season now is we have a ton of injuries, Wade didn't suddenly forget how to coach.

What? It was a completely legal screen you moron. Reid was just standing there waiting for him and none of his teammates called it out so he ran right into him.

There's nothing illegal about literally standing still on a screen.

Trust me, the way our games are called, if the screen was even close to being "illegal" it would been called.

Notice since that screen, officials have called multiple moving screens on Reid. Some are legit, others have been extremely questionable.

ETA. My assumption is Cal complained and sent that call to the league office and the consequence is that officials are now looking for that on Reid.
