Game outcome aside, I liked how Daniels went to Nabers on the first play of that final drive(after his second fumble).

For LSU to have any success at all this season he’s going to need to have confidence in his ability.

It's Southern, he should break 2

This isn't your marquee opening night against FSU on national TV

I am good with this decision. If you get thrown off your horse, you get right back on and ride the horse, or else you can’t be a cowboy any more. You can’t be a wide receiver without catching the ball.

There was no excuse for our DB’s to play 8 yards off the line when it was 3rd & 4. 3rd & 6, 3rd & 4…

Yeah, against Southern

When it mattered, against a quality opponent, he dropped two.

The only way for him to get on track is to play well against the real teams.

He will do fine this Saturday because there will be no pressure. Most likely the pressure will return the first sec game. I hope he does great, but I am pessimistic. Bad decision by coach

I said a few days ago I would put him back there again. You chose him to return punts for the opener for a reason. Give him another opportunity, evaluate how he does, and make your decision going forward.

He should see plenty of opportunities.

That's fine. Do it while we're a 40+ point favorite. If he muffs another it won't be the end of the world. But we need to find out if he's gonna be our guy or not before SEC play starts.

Ima be honest. I’m not a big fan of tall kick/punt returners. They generally are not shifty enough.

In addition to dropping 2 points, Nabers was actually the worst KO returner I’ve ever seen as well.

Maybe he breaks one against Southern, but it’s Southern. He’s not an SEC caliber return man and that’s even before you get into the catching the ball aspect of the return game.

Good call by Brian Kelly showing Malik That he believes in him and showing confidence that he will overcome the miscues of last week.

Yes. Too much talent to discard.

Nabers should rebound nicely.

Perhaps his height is deceptive. He towers over Boutee and it seemed like he was running very tall and upright on the kickoff returns.

I am pretty surprised. This is the first time I can recall seeing a player fumble on two fair catches in the same game.

If he remains the punt returner, I sincerely hope Nabers does not fumble another punt all season.

He did not impress me as a returner. I would love to be wrong. I miss the days of game breaking returners.
