LSU and Texas are both tied for the second most national titles in baseball at 6. No other SEC school has more than 2 (I think). We need to win another before Texas joins the league

That sounds right. We have 6 championships, so does Texas. OU, Vandy, and USCe have 2 each, no other SEC team has more than one.

I think its worth pointing out that Texas' first two national titles, 1949 and 1950, came at a time when the NCAA field was only eight teams. Not saying those aren't valid titles, but I like LSU's six better than Texas' six.

Texas has 6 national titles and 30 trips to Omaha. They've also finished runner-up 6 more times We have 6 national titles and 18 trips to Omaha. They have been to Omaha in every decade since the 1940s. They've been the most consistently good program in college baseball history

SEC has won 6 natties of its own spread between 4 teams since we won our last one.

But sure, keep trying to manufacture unnatural rivalries and convince yourself that this is a good thing

The national champion has been from the SEC six times since the last time LSU won it. I am ready for us to catch up to the SEC present day much more than I am ready to play a has been like Texas.

Yes, but the LSU baseball brand is much stronger in the national mind.

Arguable but possibly; however, that doesn’t mean they’re a better program “historically” which is what I responded to

Not a guarantee yet. Who knows what it will look like but it also won't happen until 2025

I continued to believe this old saw 'til our Tigers went up to Tennessee in the supers this year, and got beat like a drum.

It's a new day however--i'm confident this coming year will right the ship.
