Here's my starting 5:

PG: Shay
SG: Mikayla
SF: Flaujae
PF: Annesah
C: SaMyah

Key Bench Players:
Kailyn
Mjracle
Jersey
Poa
ADR

Prediction: Elite 8 or Final 4.
What do you think, do you have different starting 5? Do you think we will get to the final 4?

ADR will be your starting center.Shay, Mikayla, & Flaujae will be the tough call that KM has to make, I suspect they will rotate as starters through the seasons and rotate a lot in the games. And don't be surprised if you see Jada Richard in a few times next season, or not .

S'Mayah will definitely be starting. She was our most improved player last season, before she went down in that tournament. I believe we would have made the FF last season if S'Mayah remained healthy.

I agree, I just don't think it will be at center but rather as a forward.

I like ADR coming off the bench. I like picking up Jersey too if she’s going to develop into a post. Can easily see a 9 player rotation

Shay was brought in to be the starting PG. Or maybe play/switch with Poa. Shay can score (avg 11.0 past 3 yrs), Poa is not a big scorer (avg 4.2 past 2 yrs).

Yeah, I can't really see Poa starting over the options they brought in, but we'll see.

I love Poa, but I hope she's not the starter.

ADR is SLOW. I didn’t see many great post moves. If you’re gonna be big and slow, you better be able to work the block and have a back to the basket game. As of now I don’t see it but BS is an amazing post coach. As of now I say it’s smith

I feel like this roster is definitely good enough to be an elite 8 team. Kim is an excellent coach and we have a lot of talent still.

We are gonna hurt a bit on the boards and adjusting to not having Reese inside. Its not a death sentence but we will have some growing pains replacing that type of rebounding production and toughness in the paint.

On that side note I do think we will have more versatility at the forward position potentially getting Smith back and Jersey Wolfenbarger is very capable although misused at Arkansas. I see the offense running the guards much more this year

To me, to get to a final four though, they are gonna have to have some person take a big step, in particular I really think Jersey, Rosario or Smith have to make that next big jump IMO. Fully possible but thats probably going to be needed to get to back to the final four.I think our core 3 with Williams, Flaujae, Morrow are gonna be consistent high level scorers but we are going to need someone step up inside and be a physical presence in the paint next to morrow.

Depth wise Kim seemed to focus this offseason building her roster around the big 3 from last year (Morrow, Flaujae and Williams). Day-Wilson was a terrific addition, finally a legit PG who has quickness and a very solid defender. Adding Gilbert gives LSU an instant scoring punch and 3 level scorer off the bench. Shepard from Miss St is a very good quick defender that adds depth and quickness we didn't have at the guard spot last year.

Lineups:
1. Day-Wilson- PG
2. Flaujae- SG
3.Williams- W
4. Morrow- PF
5. I really think Smith ends up starting (eventually) long term but Rosario will play a lot. Rosario may start the year so they can get her as much live reps/confidence as possible. In addition Smith will be eased in coming off the ACL injury

Just a side note, the fact that the entire team was on campus the entire summer doing individual workouts and working with each other is already a way better start than last years team who didn't all get together until late August.

I felt pretty confident they were a final 4 team before it came out Rosario has been out the majority of the off season due to injuries. I think Rosario was going to make a big jump with a healthy off season but you can’t help but wonder if the jump isn’t coming for another year…in that case I don’t see how LSU has the post play to win it all but you never know with Kim Mulkey.

Either way the entire lineup should be coming back next season, on top of what many assume is going to be a top 5 class (maybe #1 if it plays out like it could). eta: actually just realized Morrow is leaving. Still, what's coming back plus a top 5 class is plenty for a national title run.

Last season was a success but I think the coaching staff is going to do a much better job now that there is so much less drama and chaos around the program. I am grateful Reese and HVL went to LSU but the media onslaught was unbelievable last year.

Smith was really good at the beginning of last year before the injury. I mean really good. If she’s healthy and you play together as a team it could definitively be a final four type year. I think people don’t realize the leap Williams is about to make in her sophomore year.

...................and people also don't realize the jump Flau'je made last year, ESPECIALLY towards the end. I think we're going to have the best guard combo with Mikaylah and Flau'je, in the SEC.

Based off a few open runs I witnessed this summer. ADR looks tremendously improved. Jersey has packed on a little muscle and looks legit. KG is down right nasty going down hill.

I haven’t gotten to see the team up close this summer but I have heard very promising things about Jersey and ADR.

Glad to hear you saw good things.

Jersey I think Kim is going to make a stretch forward. She is 6’5 but still has guard skills with a perimeter game but no doubt Kim is gonna make Jersey use her height more
