Chambliss is going to have to play the game of his life to pull out the win. I don’t really how people are looking at that statistic and are predicting that ole Miss scores 30+

apples to oranges comparison of 1st 2 teams to ole miss. No matter how much you hate them, they have a good team. We just have to be better and I feel we will. We cant have 4 turnovers and expect to win this game.

Chambliss is a different animal. Baker has never gotten his ends disciplined enough to contain running qbs in the pocket. They go inside and whiff and give up massive plays. I expect it to happen repeatedly saturday.

And 3 pts off a turnover deep in our territory. They gained no yds that series though.

We also haven't had a D - Line this fricking good since 2019. shite this D Line might be better than 2019.

While true.. Baker did pretty well against Chambliss last year. The offense was just so bad and our defense was left on the field so long they eventually gassed out

I don't think anybody realistically believes the defense will pitch a shut out this week, but I agree I don't think Ole Miss is scoring over 30. Chambliss and Kewan are legit talents who are going to have some moments. They're too good not to. But this LSU defense is built different this season at all three levels. Princewill and Ross are living in the backfield. Weeks and Dottery might go down as the best LB duo in school history. Benefield quarterbacking the secondary with Pickett shutting down the opposition's best WR are bringing back that DBU mantra. I don't see Ole Miss (or anybody for that matter) scoring more than 21-24 points against this defense.
If the Rebels have any chance to win, they are going to need a defensive or special teams TD or two.

We have different ends who transferred in...princewill and Ross can do it

The starting defense has only allowed three points also, and that was after a turnover in our territory

Not going to crown them yet but that’s not a huge bar to cross tbh. That 2019 dline was not a super special group. Teeth of that defense was at LB and DB
If this defense stays in the realm that they’ve played the last few weeks, they’ll be more comparable to those Saban and early/mid era Les level dlines. Probably haven’t had this level of talent at that level since 2012. At least at the edge

It's college football so anything can happen, but agree with you
1. Blake Baker has given up 23.5 regulation points/game against Ole Miss. 24 and 23.
2. Lane Kiffin and Charlie Weis Jr. are no longer on their sideline.
3. This LSU defense is better than any of the last two years.
4. Ole Miss offense is worse than it has been.
It's hard for me to see Ole Miss scoring more than 23-24 in this game.

Let’s not forget Kiffin knows Chambliss weaknesses and will know how to game plan around them.

this!! and, something that attributes to that as well, have all the emotions you want, but play within those emotions. that'll be key early on. any big play their d makes, or a turnover, or a score on offense, the place is going to go nuts. stay within themselves and overcome.

Too to bottom best since 2011.

What's amazing is in both games our offense put them in a position where the other team was in or right outside the redzone, and still that defense doesn't even bend.
Not to mention the majority of those yards are against the 2nd / 3rd team

The '19 DL was Lawrence, Shelvin, and Logan/Fehoko. I think this DL is clearly better than them. And FTR, Tyler was a force to be reckoned with. Achilles heel was too much rice in his gumbo.

How can you do better than 84 yards? I guess <84 yards. Still pretty impressive no matter who you are playing.

Didn't this happen last year? We thought our D was great until Baker went up against a mobile QB.
Ole Miss is light years ahead of Clemson and LaTech on offense. They will have 84 yards by the end of the first quarter. Not knocking our defense, but....

Clemson and La tech might be the 2 worst offenses we face all year, not counting McNeese.
We’re going to find out so much about this team the next 2 weeks, including if the defense truly is as good as it appears to be.
