You think the team is lost? I think they played very hard on Saturday. I think expectations are beyond unreasonable if you think this team is playing lost.

I think you couldn't wait until the end of the season. There will be some furious competition out there for coaches. USCw is already looking, I feel the Scott Frost experiment is over at Nebraska and he is done, and I feel like Mullen will be gone at UF. Also may be some other surprises along the way. We need a homerun hire this time around and this may be what we need to entice any of the names on the short list. Let's target our guy now and get things in motion before these other programs start dropping their HCs and come calling on who we have targeted.

Woodward has the power to make this call and he did.

Here is the thing if Woodward's own guy doesn't come in and turn the ship around, will that coach be out after 4 seasons, 5 seasons? Will Woodward go too?

Which do you prefer? Waiting till the end of season to be nice or pulling the trigger for a better coaching search? Can’t have it both ways. Also, O has 17 million reasons to not have his “feelings” hurt.

you recall Joe being trigger shy on Les? Les rallied and the idiots supported him, made him a martyr.

I'm not totally against the way they did this, but this is not at all the point I was addressing. He was suggesting doing it now solves the issue of extended "drama." I'm not sure it does that, but even if it does, I don't know what that accomplishes.

We have to hire a coach. We need to start looking now. Maybe it's better that we can do it publicly (maybe it's not), but the issue of "drama" is not really an issue to me.

Or at least waited until being mathematically eliminated from SEC Championship.

Going to look real bad if O pulls off a miracle and wins out and Auburn loses again.

It accomplishes eliminating all the questions as to weather O will stay or go, what can he do to save his job, etc.
gets that distraction out of the way.

The man just beat a ranked Florida team at home with a fairly decent crowd for an 11 am game. LSU did Coach O dirty by announcing this after a big win. Its a shame and I am truly appalled by that decision.

Shut your mouth before anymore idiotic words come out of it.

Don’t agree.

Recruiting would have been hurt more by late season chaos and uncertainty. This way we are ahead of the situation in enough time to get the plans firmed up to be able to show recruits the future of the program. As disruptive as it may be to this team, this year, it’s always better to eliminate the uncertainty and confusion that can come from a post-season move, right before the early signing period.

It wasn't O that beat Florida. Ask the running back that broke the all time record. He gives credit to a consultant that came up with the blocking scheme on the play that worked time after time. Oh and also I have heard that one of the OL who did so much during the game was a walk on? If so that kind of negates those who speak of O's ability to evaluate talent and recruit.

Not if you make a quick handoff.

As it stands now, between here and the early signing period we are absolutely fricked.

Its the worst of all scenarios. Either fire the man or wait until the end of the season. This lame duck shite will be a disaster.

I wish I had great faith, but the last time we had almost the whole season to find someone how did it work out? I know it's a different person running the search, but if anyone can F it up it's LSU.
