Who cares? If you surveyed every person of his age and background the opinions would probably be exactly the same. The problem is that some folks take to the internet to express outrage or disappointment about what Leonard Fournette thinks about the situation. Relax. That's his take. He's entitled to it. You are not entitled to tell him what's best or right for him.

Yeah, has potential to be a disaster.

Wait, so he is entitled to his opinion and his take on the situation, but I am not entitled to my opinion on his take?

How in the blue hell does that make any sense?

If he wanted to do this and truly not pick a side, he should have also posted something in support of the cops as well. By posting this, he shows "backing

What did he need to post to support the cops and why? This whole situation is sketchy on both sides, but maybe Leonard is tired of seeing people of his ethnicity dying.

Not really, tons of white folks in Louisiana and outside have expressed it was a senseless killing.

I thought 5 shots was excessive myself

Well, he doesnt seem concerned about the other african americans that have died in BR since the Sterling shooting....

Look, LF is a great kid. I have met him on several occasions. Why does me saying I wish he would not have done this make some people freak out? Everyone of my friends/family has done something I do not agree with at some time

Lebron James did the same thing with the "I can't breathe" shirts and the fans didn't turn on him. LF will be alright

Everything I've seen from Fournette (as a person) in the past has been positive and this doesn't change anything. Should he be more like O.J. was when he attempted to completely distance himself from everything?

These individual cases of police brutality and unfair treatment to minorities are more about the overall system (as the O.J. doc showed) rather than specific incidents within individual cases. As a middle-class white man, I try to empathize rather than continually deflect into separate arguments like many choose to do (i.e. black on black crime, whites killed by cops, etc.).

With so many cases in recent years, I'm starting to think that (if you choose to research the facts of each case), you should be able to pick at least one case that you feel the police were significantly at fault and at least one that you feel the victim was significantly at fault (and also one that each party shared fault). However, it seems like everyone picks their side when the story immediately breaks and then hang on to whatever information supports their biased views.

Hopefully Leonard will use this as motivation to beat Bama instead of looking like Trent Richardson's pro career against them.

He doesnt need to do anything. I just think it would have been great if he tweeted something instead that tried to unite both sides in this.

I 100% support his right to have his own opinion
I 100% still think LF is a great human being

I just am not happy with the posting of that picture. I am not sure why that garners such negative feedback.

He needs to stay away from that circus and focus on raising his child the correct way.

I doubt seriously he'd want her to become a female version of Alton Sterling or date someone like him.

Talk about a straw-man argument! This picture has NOTHING to do with his abilities as a father. I'm also sure he wouldn't want his daughter gunned down under questionable circumstances.

Parents can have political/moral opinions one way or another. I know mine certainly do, many of them that I don't agree with. They are still great parents and I love them.

One thing is certain: We'll know exactly what his opinion is next week. He'll definitely be asked about it all at media days next week. That's my main concern. He had better be prepared for it.

I'm just wondering why the OP thought he needed to put "LSU running back" in the title.
