Now we're really about to see what Jay can do.
He hired these 2 guys who got P5 jobs dumbass so I think he can make good hires
Way better than PM who was hiring former players off the street

I said this in the recruiting thread, but Jimmy Belanger from Florida State is available. I don't know his reputation though.

. Paul's guys were loyal and never left the program for other jobs... ?
Or...they weren't good enough to be considered for other jobs.
Take your pick.

except they did.
Cannizzaro - MS State
Will Davis - Lamar
Blake Dean - UNO
Terry Rooney - UCF
Cliff Godwin - ECU
Eddie Smith - Utah Valley St
And then there's Brian O'Connor from his stint at Notre Dame and Mike Kazlausky from his stint at Air Force.
If we're limiting it to guys like Dunn, Javi, and Cain, sure
David Grewe was the former HC at Michigan St when Paul hired him, and he just retired and went into non baseball related business after the 2011 season.

We got no starting pitching. We got no assistant coaches....

t really shows how great a staff Jay assembled in his first year that 2 of them were hired away as head coaches. This is something we'll have to deal with moving forward, but as long as Jay keeps bringing in quality assistants, it'll be a good problem to have.
As usual you are right...but got damn the recruiter and the pitching coach?
But you know the net has been in the water since the end of the regular season, we will get good people.

The great thing is JJ is known as a great hitting coach and recruiter. At least he locks that down. Some of the current recruits refer to him as the best hitting coach in college baseball. I believe he can continue to make tremendous hires. I was wondering what happened with his previous coaches at Arizona?

Good luck to coach Kelly. Let’s get someone else good in here. These replacements can be critical aa we know from coach O.

Arizona also get that HC job?
His PC from last season is currently at A&M, not sure about prior to that

Said a few days ago when Fitz left I hoped we could keep JK. Had heard he was in the running for Washington job.
If Johnson had some work to do after the USM loss, it just compounded by 5.

I'm not sure why you're acting like what I said was a slight to Jay or why you're calling me a dumbass. He's in a tough spot trying to convince kids to come to LSU instead of the MLB, while also searching for 2 new coaches.
Also, of course you have to find a way to shite on Mainieri too. You know one a Mainieri's longtime assistants just helped A&M go from 9-20 in the SEC to a top 8 CWS team right? I'm not even a Nolan Cain fan but you can frick off with trying to shite on a former coach who still helps LSU in any way he can.

I think his pitching coach at Arizona is at aTm now.

Am I going to be the first to say Scott Brown?

It sucks to lose them, but Jay gave KU a glowing recommendation for Fitzgerald, and I'm sure he did the same for Washington with Kelly. We'll probably be in the position of hiring top assistants that will take a head coaching job after a year or two here, but if Jay keeps bringing them in, I'm all for it. Get the most out of them while they're here.
