He is the second coming of Randall Cunningham who was 6’4” 215 pounds and had quite an NFL career.

If Bryce Young can play in the NFL, then JD should have no problems.

He definitely needs to bulk up some if he is going to survive at the next level.

JD was 185 - 190 lbs when he got here. He added a lot of weight this last season.

That’s the least of his concerns.

His arm strength will be more of a hindrance, he’s athletic enough
he would have at worst, average NFL arm talent today. He may not be able to throw it 70yds, but his intermediate passes have a lot of velocity

Was abt to post this very statement. JD's arm is fine, but Cunningham had a cannon.

Is the big concern at the next level his ability to take the hits from NFL players?

The #1 pick this year weighed about 175 lbs.

To be fair, running the ball is NOT a big part of his game.

Gentlemen —. With all due respect …. Stop talkin out your asses. Seriously.

1. 175 pound man is a TINY person in tbe NFL.
2. JD is a tall, skinny, and runs a lot. He’ll need to either change or get bigger in tbe NFL.
3. Randall Cunningham was a great athlete — but he wasn’t a great QB.
4. Cunningham only ran for 3-4 seasons in the NFL until he got hurt being sacked in a game.

Some of you are so enamored with JD you aren’t thinking clearly.

He’s not big. ANY QB that runs a lot in tbe NFL is at risk of a shortened career.

Saints should take him and let him learn for a couple of years.

I don’t think you know what that phrase means.

He was runner up at something THREE times, so that proves he was a great QB?

Get help.

What now? JD isn’t 175 but I agree he needs to put on some weight to be effective at the next level. Agreed his career could be shortened bc of his style but that also doesn’t mean he needs to change it. He does need to get better at when to push for the extra yard and when to give himself up.

Why is it that people think he has a weak arm?

I think he’ll be fine and will keep bulking up much like Jalen Hurts did. It’s likely his future NFL team will not draft him to start immediately and he will have time.

I think he could hold 220lbs or so. That's pretty prototypical.
