Too bad his tenure ended the way it did but once Mack Brown left, the offense was not the same.

It got so bad and boring, during the Miss State game, people would take pages out of their programs, make paper airplanes, and launch them from the upper bowl. One stayed in flight five minutes.

Great man. Recruited by my great uncle. Jerry's grandparents worked for him. My uncle went all over N. La watching high school football and recruiting always. He thought Jerry was a great talent and even though LSU wasn't that interest, took him to a bunch of LSU games and pretty much talked Dietzel into signing him. They remained friends till my uncle passed away.

A long time ago, Valero Corporation purchased a refinery in Norco where I worked. Valero was very big in working with the United Way & hosted a supper to kick off the United Way drive. Jerry Stovall was the guest speaker. I knew he was a good motivational speaker, but by the time he was finsihed, he had 50 year old's ready to run thru a wall for United Way.
May he RIP.
