Y'all thinking Ole Miss tales a step back on offense, I hope so but I don't see it. They made the best OC hire they could have made for consistency. Hired the former QB coach under Lane who went on to have very good outcomes the last couple of years as OC of I think ECU. He knows the Lane offense.

They lost 4/5 WRs and TE. Their portal WR additions are pretty mid. Don’t have any quality OTs either. Curne turned out to be a bust. The new OC may be great, but I find it hard to believe that their offense will be ‘humming’ by Week 3.

I think they take a step back on O and probably have a better defense. I see 8-4/9-3 for them.

Isn’t the stadium like 60k? One of the smaller sec venues.

I’m more worried about the team being distracted from the Oxford circus of that game and not being ready to whip up
On A&M. Win or lose I just hope they don’t let it impact the following game because that is equally as important.

I don't think it really matters. Kiffin is an emotional guy and the emotions are going to be wild going into that game. It'll be tough on him. Golding knows his offense. And those 60k are gonna bring it. I expect us to win the game, but I'm not discounting how difficult of a win it'll be like many here seem to be. It'll be a big accomplishment for Kiffin to win that game and should be treated as such

Beating ole Miss is never a big accomplishment for LSU. Sorry bud. Save the big accomplishments for the Bamas, Georgias and Texases of the world.

Having watched LK upgrade & modernize Alabamas offense (with Saban kicking & screaming), turning around FAMU immediately & what he was able to accomplish at Ole Piss with the talent he brought in, I think 9-3 is the bottom. Watching and holding my breath every time he called a play, wherever he has been, wondering what he was going to pull off has been masterful. I breathe easier knowing he will be on our sidelines for the next however many years we have him.

I think they’ll have chemistry by week 6.

if they've been putting in the work that they say they have, they should have chemistry out the gate

its football, its not rocket science. youve got about 6 different receivers that the qb needs to know how they tun their routes ,you dont have to have unreal chemistry with every player

Probably not. But there is too much context being left out in your hypothetical.

Our QB (coming off injury) will have spent a total of 6 weeks with our cobbled together offensive roster by the time that game arrives.

We could very well win all of those games. We almost beat OM last year with an injured QB and a head coach who clearly wasn’t up to the challenge.

It won’t take that long for the offense to come together. They spend a lot more time with film, playbook and such than in the past and almost everyone on the offense has played college ball for at least two years. It’s gonna boil down to the offensive line, they do their part and we will be ok. Having the best LT in CFB sure won’t hurt.

You're getting downvoted to hell, but I understood the point of this post

To answer, we'd be 2-2 coming out of September. This board would explode. Then, we'd go 7-1 with 4 road SEC wins including Auburn and Tennessee plus a win over Alabama. I'd be very pleased with this by the time we're in December. We'd have maybe a 30-40% chance of making the playoffs with this record, but perhaps the fact that our losses came so early would help us out. Even without a playoff appearance, I'd be excited for the direction of this program if that's how our season goes.

Looking at possibilities LSU is underdog vs Texas with 5 other games predicted to be one score differential: Ole Miss, Tex A&M, Aub, Ala and Tenn. So if LSU wins 3 of the 5 predicted close games and loses to Texas the Tigers are 9-3 and probably outside Top 12. Many believe the SEC made it harder to qualify by adding a 9th SEC game.
LAU New staff and lots of new players must gel as a team very quickly to win more of the predicted close games. Go Tigers!!!

I don't think both Texas teams will beat us. I think we are 3-1 after first 4 games. That one loss could be Ole Piss or the Faggies.

We should have a pretty good idea of what Chamblis and Lacy's tendency's are and their weaknesses. I like our D chances is holding the OM offense down and outscoring them and win by 10-14 pts, if our offense jells at all. We should also know the weaknesses of the OM defense and tendencies due to the players that came from OM. Just some hopeful thoughts.
