LSU goes 9-3 this year with losses to Ole Miss, Texas, and Texas A&M.

Do we make the playoffs with this record? If not, how disappointed would you be?
Edited to add: This is a hypothetical, not a prediction. The question afterward was the more important point. Does LSU get in the playoffs with a 9-3 record if we lose our toughest games? And, how disappointed would you be in a 9-3 record with no playoff?

We won’t know because this board will implode if we lose to ole Miss

I don't see us losing back to back games. I really don't see Ole Miss beating us either. We were there closest win last year with our horrible offense on the road. I know Chambliss has improved since that game but our offense should be night and day better as our coaching is that much better. Also, think their offense will see at least a small step back due to play calling. not many out their on the level of Kiffin and Weiss.

9-3 gets us in. I’ll take it

The Ole Miss game is very lose-able.
Our QB (coming off injury) will have spent a total of 6 weeks with our cobbled together offensive roster by the time that game arrives.
They will have no chemistry, anticipation, timing.... its going to be rough

I think they’ll have chemistry by week 6.

Why are people so high on Ole Miss?

It’s a hypothetical, not a prediction. Why can’t people just answer the question?

History would tell you no. There’s no real way to even having a guess on this without knowing what happened with other teams.

Ole Miss
Chamblis of course but I think they have a big let down. They are going to let Louisville play them way too close if not lose to them, fail to cover the spread in their rent a win and lose to LSU by double digits.
frick Ole Miss

It is not the offense. LSUs defense will be far better and DEEPER especially on the dline. Chambliss will not escape and the rush pressure from those ends and up the middle will make his day pure shite.
Think Johnny Manzel and that game plan. The DBs will also be deeper.
Baker will have spent a lot of time with those DBs and game planning.
Pickett will be better and people think we will step back with loss of Delane but all indications are Woodland will be a huge difference maker.
I don’t think it’ll be as close as people think unless the QB gets hurt. LSU had a stick in the mud with an injured Nuss.
This is a game changer.

our cobbled together offensive roster

I don't get this losing to Ole Miss stuff.
Neutralize the QB and they have nothing.

Trust me, I prefer this game plan. Cage rush and force him to his weaker side of the field.
Blake Baker refuses to do this... after repeatedly getting burned by mobile QB's over 2 seasons with his "havoc rate" approach.
Don't ask me why

When in history have we played a 9 game SEC schedule?
That is going to come into play when deciding playoff teams, and a 9-3 SEC team will make it. Maybe it wont be this year, bc it heavily depends on what the rest of the country looks like, but it will happen sooner rather than later, despite what your history tells you.

OM will have a good team, but I’m sorry they will take a HUGE step back

The pressure up the middle and control of rush lanes with bigger and stronger defensive linemen plus the depth. He won’t have to blitz as much PLUS he will have longer due to better communications in the backend.
I really like the potential of defense this season. Watch to see if Zach Weeks doesn’t come on late in the season. He is bigger, faster and stronger than Whit was coming into LSU and has had an offseason to learn the defense while playing some last season.
They will be deeper at LB also…
