Well goodness if they still gonna be this bad in gm 3 I can only image how bad LSUs offense will be against Clemson and Tech. I have a hard time believing that two offensive genius coaches in Kiffin and Weiss Jr will have this offense still looking out of sync and dysfunctional still by Ole Miss.

Do we make the playoffs with this record?

If it is those three teams I say no.

Past history (which is limited) says 9-3 doesn't get you in. However, I think because (a) last year showed non-power conf. teams can't compete in the CFP and (b) the SEC now has a 9 game schedule, I think a 9-3 SEC team gets in this year. The problem is that is likely 3 of LSU's best opponents and losses to all three would give LSU fewer "good wins" in a resume comparison scenario

how disappointed would you be?

Very.

This is a talented roster led by a HC who has proven he can immediately field a great SEC offense, even with a transfer laden roster, and also has a DC who has shown he can, at minimum, field a solid defense at LSU.

The days of needing multiple years to stack and develop blue chip HS recruit classes in order to eventually have a top quality team are over. LSU had "dudes". They have proven coaches on both sides of the ball. Go win!

A lot of people are downplaying the fact that A&M is only returning 1 starter on the O-line. 2 of their replacements are average guys from our failed O-line last year.

We catch them early in the year before they gel. That should bode well for some exotic Baker blitzes, regardless of how mobile Reed is. We should be able to force him into some turnovers at home.

You're wrong.

LSU goes 10-2 (possibly 11-1)
Sam Leavitt is health and elusive
Defense has growth on Dl but rounds into formidable shape by end
Kiffin rolls dice and Tiger Stadium employs its will
Ole Ms is the key
A&M at home and payback
stope seeing the glass 1/2 empty
it's always beyond your fears

The real point was the 9-3. Do you think we get in with a 9-3 record? But if I posted that, then people would say it depends who we lose to. So I picked 3 teams that would be difficult. It could be Bama, Tenn, and Clemson. Just pick 3 and see what you think.

While I get what your saying this will be much more of an issue against Clemson than Ole Miss...

If there were only a coach out there who has shown he can take a bunch of first year transfers, including at QB, and quickly put together a good offense LSU would be in business. Maybe the coach of blue team could make it happen....

In case you forgot Chambliss's state line from the LSU game last year (his 3rd start not only for OM, but in D-1 football)

23/39 314 yards, 1 TD; 71 yards rushing.
Ole Miss total offense - 480 yards

I won’t be disappointed if LSU goes 9-3 this season and it’s unknown how or if a 9 game SEC schedule will influence the CFP committee. Unfortunately, they’ve already proven a number of times that strength of schedule has not been a major consideration regardless of what they say.

When in history have we played a 9 game SEC schedule?

Never. But historically a 9 win team has never made the playoff. Maybe that changes this year, I have no idea.

That is going to come into play when deciding playoff teams, and a 9-3 SEC team will make it. Maybe it wont be this year, bc it heavily depends on what the rest of the country looks like

I mean that’s basically exactly what I said.

LSU is 100,000% not losing to Ole Miss. Get that shite out of your mind.

A&M is a better team, but I don't see us losing to them either.

People are just vastly over looking what om and tamu lost.

Do yall know that Tamu lost their entire OL, top receiver and has a new OC? Sure their Defense will be good. But last season was their overall peak they won’t even get close to 11-1 ever again.

Do yall know Golding was never anyone’s first choice as HC? Seriously. He wouldn’t have even gotten a sun belt job. Om panicked and promoted him. The guy is in way over his head. You can just hear it when he speaks. He’s clueless on how to run an SEC program. It’s Matt luke 2.0. Honestly Charlie Weiss would have been a better choice.

Probably still a 3-loss team. I think we get revenge. Likely lose to Texas, Bama, and Tennessee.

That is probably the game we are most likely to lose if they live up to preseason expectations. IF
