We should be expecting to play for championships yearly if we have 3 in 16 years.

Of course we have the misfortune of playing in the SEC west.

But we shouldn't have anything worse than a 9-3 season in an off year.

Talent wise, Bama should be a coinflip yearly. Coaching puts us behind the 8 ball in at least 3 games.

I would say that Saban made us realize how great we could be. We’re so good that we’ve been able to win championships with Miles and O since he left. I’m not giving up on Coach O yet. I think we can do it again with the right coordinators and Coach O being the CEO and recruiter. As much as I hate that Saban has achieved legendary status at Bama (why not anywhere else) but he made us realize that we didn’t have to settle for moral victories.

Rqnkings mean nothing right now! The rankings that matter are from the end of October to the end of November! It is not how you start, it is how you finish. Example, the Cincinnati- jacksonville game last night!

Saban ruined LSU, we expect championship runs every year
lol why shouldn’t LSU expect to be in contention every year? With the talent Louisiana has and the ability to recruit nationally it should be expected. Two championships were won with pretty terrible head coaches. Imagine if LSU had a real good coach that could recruit and run a side of the ball. The expectations of being a consistent contender could happen

Too many quitters in the Coach O regime. Being a players coach and good recruiter you’d think he’d be able to keep them on campus. The 2019 class has been a disaster. Hopefully the 2020 & 2021 guys stick around because they are talented.

You're a classic MAMM (Mediocrity Accepting Mental Moron) and big part of the problem currently in the LSU fan base.

The culture is filled with selfishness, instability, lack of loyalty, accountability and excuses.

Without Burrow and 2019, “O” would be gone already.

He started it but we've played in 3 NC games after he left, won 2 of them, each with different coaches. It's not the person, it's the fact we've WON 3 in a 16-year span that built the expectation.

This. Maybe throw in some laziness, softness, and wokeness and you have both the 2020 and the current 2021 teams.

No, Saban demonstrated what the motherfLuck CAN AND SHOULD BE DONE at LSU. Ya know, kinda how a quality coach LSU SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM attracting tends to do. Not the last two VILLAGE IDIOTS we have had coaching that won Natty's IN SPITE of themselves.

This is the problem Tiger fans have with 0. We have seen how elite this job is, and since Saban, we haven't been able to hire a coach deserving of it. Nothing more, and nothing less.

The LSU culture was a problem under Les and it’s continued under O. It’s the whole “NFLSU” thing. Players are more about the name on the back of their jersey than they are about the name on the front. NFLSU DBU, you name it. The NIL thing is only making it worse.

Before you say, “it’s like this everywhere”. I call bs. It doesn’t seem to be an issue at places like Clemson and Ohio St. Coach O tries to push the whole “one team one heartbeat” thing but I think players see through it and still see “NFLSU”. Seeing OBJ post national championship acting like that with our players made me sick.

If your expectation is 2nd or 3rd in the conference every year then you will be 2nd or 3rd every year. If you dont expect championships you will NEVR get championships.

I think the Cuture is fine. Last year was an Anomaly and a myriad of misfortunes both in Coaching, Politics, and Player personnel. The HC may be ultimately responsible but at some point people need to take ownership of their decisions.

This year is the season I thought we would have had last year. It looks like we are trending in the right direction. The question should be asked at the end of November.
This. Under Saban and early Miles we were in a championship every 4 years or so. Then late career Miles things started slipping.

Orgeron turned that around quickly and not only competed in a championship but won it in year 3! He mortgaged a bit of the future in doing so, but it looks like we will be back in the playoffs only 4 years later. The difference this time being that we will be stacked at every position for the next year and year after that. Walker Howard will be committed through 2024 and I bet Orgeron lines up some QB's behind him.

Simple, The Gumps have a great fan base. They turn out for the games & stay for the whole thing ,Isu fans have become Skippies a long time ago. If they go they leave at the half!

Whether we like it or not, Fresno State did no worse than did Ohio State against #3 Oregon. The difference being that Fresno State played their game in Autzen Stadium instead of at home in Columbus.

big money and athletes who aren't students vs. athletes working for degrees with football more of a side interest
