You actually think the SEC would have the balls to kick LSU out of the conference! LOL, that's a great business plan.....let's kick out the member institution that has provided more national championships to the league than any other institution. That would be the dumbest thing ever! But I must admit, they have been doing some stupid stuff lately. Like trying to circumvent a judicial order by coming out with a ruling after said judicial order. The LSU president is looking like the absolute smartest of the group by abstaining! LSU should have no liability now going forward. The SEC and the rest of the member institutions all have liability now in my opinion. Looks like a Kentucky court is already pouncing on them!

That’s true and false at the same time. Are they identical? No. Are they same thematic issue? Yes.
Chambliss’ scenario is far worse. He was out of eligibility by current and previous rules and was three times rejected for restoring it based on what seems to be fraudulent characterization of an illness and its effects on his ability to play.
He used the courts and in particular a local court with an Ole Miss alumni judge to make a mockery of a judgment. He had absolutely no leg to stand on but the SEC didn’t even fight it.
These kids were not afforded an opportunity for a new rule change and were not aware the 5th year (not 6th) was a possibility based on how the NCAA changed the rules. Later court decisions made that option available to them but not until after they had made decisions without that knowledge.
Chambliss knew exactly what his situation was. The only thing that changed was finding a corrupt judge and system to try and force the NCAA to let him play.
The situations are different, and Chambliss’ is by far significantly more of an injustice.
These kids didn’t make a team and simply went to training camp.
I am also fine with banning G League players, but international pros should also be banned. If is unfair to claim one pro league is okay while another is not.
Similarly, the SEC rules are not applying the rules consistently across all sports or leagues. That alone should force them either to block all players in all sports that participated in any way with a professional league or let them all play for the 2022 kids since the eligibility allows it.

I really wish LSU would not fight this battle for football or hoops this close to fall enrollment deadline
let it go and move on
if those dudes want to come back, go play in the SWAC or Sun Belt and let them worry about the NIL they can get from those schools

However, what this will do is paint LSU as a target throughout the entire season and you'll see the SEC refs hit LSU hard in games due to corruption from the SEC offices for them sticking it to them.

This is my thinking. LSU needs to extract itself from it altogether while there’s still some time for these guys to try elsewhere. At some point these guys, who have few options left at in their careers, could eventually turning on LSU because of promises made and LSU could end up the one getting sued for damages. It may already be too late for that.

Saw some hayseed on Pawl’s show today. He said LA judges are all backwoods corrupt etc to allow this scandal. I lol
