Alabama also did with basketball players from the draft
Exactly. What's the difference between these football players and the guy who was in the G league and was allowed to come back and play basketball for Alabama?

I’m not sure why everyone is only talking about it as if LSU is the only SEC school that did this.
People lack brain cells.

Then the CFP will act, an entity separate from the NCAA and SEC. And this sh*t show will be over.

Exactly. If he gets 6 years from an Ole Miss judge then the 5/5 guys should get grandfathered in. They were told their eligibility was finished & well done. You can't pick & choose your own injunctions, SEC.
Chambliss is done if the 5/5 guys can't play.

yep, the sec never stopped bediako, he lost in court. so why aren't these players getting the same treatment?
Posted on 8/27/26 at 11:51 am to JoeENorthlando
And then they get sued.
As I have said many times.
This ends two ways.
Either all play or no one plays (including the Texas kid and Chambliss)
Either way we win.

I just can’t see that the gains are worth this shite. I get it’s” the principal of it “ but we’re too far down the road, it’s game week in 4 days. The ruling date was fuked up, it’s created more “ victims” ……Take what u got and kick some arse.
Those players have everything to gain from it.

Yes indeed. There are many other schools & players involved. Do some research.

So if these fractional groups are allowed to play, what about the other 220 that fit the category of 4 years played under the old rules? The others that were not granted TROs by an overreaching local judge.

quote:Another naive comment. It's the players that are fighting this not LSU and it's 100 staff members.
This is retarded let them go play at ULL or Tulane if we dont have a team that can win with how much was spent it is a pretty poor reflection on Lane and the 100 staff members.
BUT, if they are in the portal and available legally Lane is going to recruit them.
It doesn't mean you're going to see Lane in a court room and not on the practice field. Sheesh

They will either all play or none
I don’t understand what you find confusing.

You do understand there are 220 other players that fit into the class that are being allowed to play?
Posted on 8/27/26 at 11:56 am to Septiger
There are already questionable calls on us. What is changing besides saying “Hey MF’er play fair or be in contempt of court.”
Posted on 8/27/26 at 11:56 am to 1999
Watch what you wish for; may trigger game forfeits and/or suspensions of coaches.

The direct fight is not LSU v. the NCAA or the SEC. It's the players vs. those two. LSU is more in the posture of a potential 3rd party beneficiary to a fight that technically doesn't involve LSU. If the NCAA and/or SEC is enjoined from enforcing its rule by a court of law LSU will take a play the guys. If not, it will abide by the SEC's rule.

LSU is not a party in the lawsuit. You seem to not understand that point. It’s the players driving this legal fight

This is verging into distraction territory. Just need to get it over and done with.

I've seen it mentioned that many of the NIL packages for these 5-for-5 transfers included provisions to pay for the legal battles.

Right. LSU isn't going to use those players; the risk is much too high for the potential reward.
The juice isn't worth the squeeze. Egos aside
