Louisiana-born NFL QB's, last 20 years
quote:
That’s a bad excuse because Texas is right next door and I’d bet they’re top 3 to 5 in states that put out NFL QBs. For example Matt Stafford played at Uga big comes from Texas, Drew Brees to Purdue. It’s just a fact of life that most QBs come from Texas, California and the Pennsylvania area, everyone not just LSU has to adjust to it.

Until the guy last year Brees was the ONLY Texas born QB to win a Super Bowl. So there’s that. Louisiana norm QBs are either 3rd or 4th on the list for the most SB wins...

This and the fact that Texas has about 10X the population and highschool football qbs to Louisiana makes the above statement funny.

Humphries did start out at LSU and fell out with Arnsparger I think....something or other happened and he transferred to Northeast and won a national championship.

Northeast was QBU for a few years their damn self.

Which begs to ask the question, if we have all these running QBs why haven’t we gone to an offense that can feature these players?

that’s been the question since Ryan Perriloux. I firmly believe that would have happened had he kept his head on straight. Miles went to what he knew because of Lee. Crowton would have absolutely killed it with RP.
This is an interesting discussion of what could have been.. If RP doesn’t switch to LSU over UT, theres likely no 2007 NC. Then again, because of him, there wasn’t an option ready in 2008. It was a situation where there’s no Russell/Flynn.

I’ll take what Miles did because 2011 was just plain filthy a team as ever. It was the fear that caused the spiral.

From 1985-1990 NLU had Stan Humphries, Monroe born Bubby Brister, and Doug Pederson.

Josh and John David Booty were in the NFL but never started a regular season game. Brett Favre derailed JDs career by coming out of retirement again and joining the Vikings. Brock Berlin however did start a game for the Rams around 07 or so.
