I will believe it when I see it, having e-mailed Scott many times.
My grandfather Ryan played on that team with the great Doc Fenton. He ran for a 75 yard Touchdown (5 points) against a Baylor team that was annihilated 89-0. 1908 team was perfect 10-0. An annihilated Baylor team recovered to beat Tulane and the humbled Green Wave created terrible rumors of LSU Professionalism that filled the penmanship of one Grantland Rice who held Tulane in high esteem. These rumors were later disproved and NCAA considers LSU the 1908 Champ.

Why not? We have a legitimate claim to it based upon the polls that were recognized at the time.

Since LSU just had the greatest success imaginable in a football season, it doesn't really matter to me, but through the years I've seen LSU recognized as champs in 1908 by numerous other outlets, but LSU seemed to go out of its way not to recognize it. Doesn't hurt to recognize it when these other outlets keeps recognizing it. Plus maybe there is a 115-year-old Tulane fan alive that it might piss off. That was a great/ugly rivalry back in the day.

It's legit one of the worst schedule I've ever seen.
La Tech doesn't look terrible today, can't speak for them back then. Looks like they put up a better fight than Miss St, A&M and Baylor.
Interesting, whoever Haskell is/was, they didn't have the (non-IA) tag next to them.
