Nah. 1935 would be extremely weak

Doesn't Minnesota have an NC season when they finished like 9-2 after the bowl game? Bowls weren't usually considered much better than exhibitions at that time iirc

Bowl games did not count on national championships in the 1930's, the championship is for the season; Bowl games were at that time a reward for a good season only.

I’m trying to like Scott Woodward and have taken a “believe it when I see it” attitude now about a 1908 Title. Having sent many letters to ADs since the 1990’s, I have gotten little more than polite lip service, but have been told that many others felt the same way and that helps knowing.

Yea 35 isn’t legit even though National Championships were awarded before bowls and we still would have had 1 loss and Minnesota was undefeated
