No he is the QB with the highest foreseeable ceiling and the one who can make the most impressive throws that others can not.

If you watch him play he is very impressive, but Tua easily at this point scares me more than Trevor Lawrence does.

Trevor Lawrence has not lost a single game since taking over as starter. He has also only played in 3-4 difficult games in that same time.

He played one team (Ohio State) this year that did not lose 5 or more games. That impresses me very little.

Bama: Bama’s defense is not that great, especially by Bama’s standards

You mean the Alabama defense ranked 11th in passing defense, 21 in total defense, and 13th in scoring defense even with giving up 40+ to us and Auburn?

Or do you mean the Alabama defense that has some of the higher graded/more NFL ready DBs in the country?

Its ok to admit that our offense is just that good. It is a possibility. Clemson may stop us, may be able to do what no other team has. But then maybe they cant.

I can’t believe all of these serious “LSU by 21” comments. I know it’s not everyone, but for all of you who have recently jumped onto the Burreaux Train:

-Just because Clemson’s schedule is garbage doesn’t mean they can’t keep up in a shootout.

-They have the best QB and coaching staff we have faced all season long.

-Ross = Julio Jones

-Higgins = AJ Green

-Rogers: reminds me of Steve Smith with the ball in his hands and route running.

-What’s scary about the above is that they LOVE running four vert plays over and over again.

-We won’t see that short-route passing scheme they ran versus OSU because we can’t get the same type of pressure.

————

Here’s an objective look into our season:

-Florida: kept it close for three quarters and played us very well. This is when Trask was just starting to put it together. It was our second biggest game and still pretty early in the season. Florida did well up until their DBs started giving our WR some space. We ended up winning by double digits.

Auburn: Yes the field was shite, but that should also slow down the D-line. Our offense looked like shite in the red zone. That’s supposedly a strength for Clemson, but honestly, OSU dropping TD passes doesn’t mean your red zone offense is great. We need to improve here. If Auburn’s offense was even remotely competent, they’d win this game.

Bama: Bama’s defense is not that great, especially by Bama’s standards. That being said, Clemson’s defense is better. I don’t buy into the Tua’s injury affecting his game, it was the same Tua from the NCG. There were a lot of take always from this game: Burrow obliterated their defense and scored at will. The defense did great aside from 2 blown TD passes and the punt return. The score here is not indicative of the real game. That being said, Clemson is better than this Bama team.

-Ole Miss: so many people point to this game that don’t know shite about college football. Yes, we played like garbage, but the Bama hangover was real and Delpit wasn’t anywhere near 100%. He was a big reason why their QB ran all over us. Regardless, it was a wake up call and the defense stepped up the rest of the season.

-UGA: this would’ve been a great measuring stick, but UGA’s offense is focused around Swift and he wasn’t healthy. Our offense could’ve dropped 70, but I wanted to see what the defense was capable of. Not much more to say about this game.

-OU: even if OU had all of their players, this would’ve been a blowout. No takeaways from this game.

So here we are. Clemson in one week. They will undoubtedly be the best team we have played all year.

Sunshine pumpers: Clemson is the defending champs who returned the entire offense, has a very underrated offensive line, and better defense than Bama. I don’t believe Clemson can slow our offense down, but our defense has been gashed before for big plays. If anything, the NCG magnifies a team’s weaknesses.

Expect Clemson to do everything they can to keep our offense off of the field for as long as possible.

Edit: I wanted to add that we will be the best offense Clemson has ever seen, but Clemson is the best team we have faced on both sides of the ball. Ohio State was the best defense Clemson has faced.

Bruh...do yourself a favor, check yourself into a mental ward for severe mental incompetency.

I mean when you compare the final three games of the season that both LSU and Clemson have played, it is crystal clear that LSU has a significantly better defense.

I mean, Clemson gave up an average of 359 yards of total offense against South Carolina, Virginia, and Ohio State. While LSU gave up an average of 259 yards of total offense to Texas A&M, Georgia, and Oklahoma.

And Clemson's offense isn't comparable to LSU's. As Clemson generated the preponderance of their offensive stats against cupcakes. While LSU generated the majority of their stats against six teams that were ranked in the AP Top Ten, with three of those teams being ranked in the Top Four.

So please put down the crack pipe and check yourself into a mental ward.

Since you did not take anything away from the last game we played, let me help you:

1) Most TDs responsible for in a College Football Playoff game.

2) Most passing TDs in a College Football Playoff game.

3) An LSU school-record for most passing TDs in a game.

4) Most TD passes combined between two College Football Playoff games. (note that we have only played one so far)

5) A Peach Bowl record for most passing TDs.

6) Tied the record for most passing touchdowns in a bowl game. (Any bowl game ever played)

7) Tied the FBS record for most passing TDs in a half.

8) Most total touchdowns all-time in a bowl game.

9) Most individual touchdowns all-time in an SEC game.

10) receiving yards in a College Football Playoff game.

11) Points in a College Football Playoff half.

12) Points in a College Football Playoff game.

I moved on when I saw this. Utterly ridiculous. Sorry but this team beat NC by 1 point.
Of course they are good they are in NC however we have beaten 6 top 10 teams this year something that has never been done and Clemson will be next.

I have made it very clear the reasons I think this game won't be close.

I just read some of your recent posts: stats simple don’t explain the tape. It’s crazy how ironic this sounds: we used to be the ones saying that our team outplays the numbers. Same here with Clemson: we destroy them stat-wise, but their film says they will not be blown out.

I 100% agree with you. OSU is the real #2 team and should’ve beaten Clemson, but they didn’t. So Clemson will remain the toughest team we will play all year.

I don't think they can keep up. Sorry.

No need to apologize, sarcastically or otherwise. I really hope you’re right. There’s nothing I would love more than a blowout.

I’ve sent your post to the coaches, no matter how retarded it is. Hopefully they learn from your spot on analysis.

Send them three things for me:

1. expect lots of man/bump and run coverage.

2. Clemson will definitely run a trick play consisting of a pass to Trevor Lawrence and/or flea flickers.

3. Look at the four vert schemes versus Notre Dame. They will stack WRs and have Ross in the slot for the majority of the game.

Nvm, they already know about #1. Just send them the other two lol.

Since you didn't gain anything from the OU game, I'll tell you the staff already has #2 covered as well...

Talk about swallowing the hype hook line and sinker. Clemson is a very good team but the Julio/ A.J. comparisons are beyond insane and so is the Lawrence handjob. Lawrence is talented but extremely underdeveloped in that vanilla scheme. You mention tape but if you’d actually watched any you’d see just how much more advanced some of the offenses and QBs we’ve already faced are in terms of understanding coverage and blitz pickup. Ohio State had an untouched rusher every single time they blitzed Lawrence because he’s not far along enough to recognize blitzes or adjust protection. Very talented but very raw and unless we have a catastrophic meltdown we’ll win the game without a true threat.

Hahaha man/bump and run? You serious? I expect a ton of cov 3 type rip/Liz principals even cov 7 but I’m sure you’ve analyzed the game film or in normal world, you watched the broadcast and are calling that your “film” “coach”

Our defense doesn’t agree with you: Burrow and Lawrence are 1a and 1b.

Lawrence has the better arm, he’s tough as shite, and now everyone has realized he can take off running if needed.

Sure, but how did he play against them??

That’s what’s lost in Clemson’s shitty schedule.

Trevor Lawrence threw for 259 2TD and rushed for 107 and another TD.

Doubters will say he went 18/33.

he started off like shite, but only has 4 incompletions in the second half and was on the money.

If you watch the film, you’ll know the playcalling/routes were much shorter/quicker than in previous games.

I can’t recall the rant being this blind about an opponent in a very, very long time. We knew 1/9/2012 was going to be trouble. I’d have to go all the way back to the 2007 Arkansas. I’m not saying that Arkansas was better, but failure of the rant to acknowledge a pretty damn good team is about the same.

Imagine being this arrogant you’re wrong but thanks for spouting your opinion as fact. Alabama with Tua is better than Ohio State

Bama’s schedule was pathetic. The rankings don’t mean shite. Georgia, Auburn, and even florida played us better on defense.

Clemson has highly rated DBs as well. Xavier is overrated. Surtain is definitely solid.

Bama vs Clemson this season:
-offense: Clemson
-defense: Clemson

A closer look:

QB: CLEMSON, AND OUR DEFENSE AGREES.

RB: Najee Harris is a better RB. Etienne is a better pass catcher. Push.

WR: Bama has the better WR corps. Clemson has the best duo. Slight edge to Bama.

OLine: Clemson. As I previously stated, they have a grossly underrated O-line

DLine: Clemson. Not saying much though.

LB: Clemson. Bama is very young here and losing Dylan Moses was huge.

CB: Clemson. AJ Terrell has shut down/island capabilities. He’s on the Mount Rushmore of CBs this year.

Safeties: Clemson. Again, Xavier McKinney is highly overrated.

FG Kicking: push. They both stink.

Punting: Clemson. The rugby style punting has been very effective.

KR/PR: Bama. Rogers can still be a huge factor for Clemson.

All due respect, but you’ve already been given one reason (and one reason that squarely answers your question): conceding that Clemson is as good on tape as you suggest, is it not possible this LSU team is so dominant (historically) that even the best team in CF in a given year can be dwarfed by a generational team such as this LSU team?

Your analysis ignores that many, many people see this LSU team as a once in a 10, 20, 30 year team. They’ve not only broken most offensive statistics, but they’ve crushed them.

Think of all the records smashed. This team is outperforming any SEC team. Ever. All the Spurrier coached Florida teams. Peyton and TN. Bama and AJ Mccarron. Newton and AU. UGA and Hershel. And it goes beyond just the SEC.

The optimism stems from this fact. A fact you seem not to consider.

Question you should ask yourself is this: how would this acknowledged great Clemson team compare to those other great historical teams? And would that not be the same result playing against this LSU team?
