I think Ohio State’s defense is better than ours, but we have definitely played a tougher schedule, so I’m definitely being subjective.

Yes it seems as though you either cant accept the fact that they have improved and are playing up to their talent level. Due to multiple factors, Health (which in turn allowed proper D line rotations and time playing as a complete unit for the first time all season) better attention to detail and being where they should be rather than trying to compensate for young players they didn't fully trust or know well. Also it allowed Aranda much more flexibility in his pressures and for him to use a healthy delpit as an eraser once again.

To support this I'll solely use UGA and OU games since we seem to degrade LSU competition but not Wofford and GT, but I degress.

LSU and Clemson defensive stats averaged last 2 games (it only gets more impressive if you go the full 4 games back.)

LSU. CLEMSON
total Ypg. 304. 451.5
Passing YPG. 225. 301
Yard per att. 5.8 7.5
Rushing YPG. 79. 150
Yard per rush. 2.9. 4.5

Scoring defense 19ppg. 20ppg

And no I didn't remove garbage points or LSU would be averaging 12ppg.

All of the number grow further apart if we go the full month and LSU crushes OSU even worse.

So there is the proof of the better play in tangible numbers.
It doesn't guarantee an LSU win, but it does legitimize everyone's confidence in the defense as of late.

Edit* sorry hard to make it align on my phone.

I think OSU’s defense is absolutely elite. I think OSU is a top 3 team. When you compare them to us, our offense is undoubtedly better, but their defense still edges out ours.
I see defenses about equal, but offense a big disadvantage for Clemson from what I've seen vs quality competition. Likely 2 score difference after it all washes out.

2013 Notre Dame isn’t anywhere near 2019 Clemson though.
I agree
The talent and coaching is worlds apart. The entire offense is back from last years title game.
You are probably correct here and I wasn’t saying that Clemson was is bad as ND, I was simply pointing out that being in the championship game doesn’t automatically mean they are in reality one of the two best teams in the country. Was OU REALLY one of the 4 best teams in the country?

Trevor Lawrence is next years #1 pick while ND’s QB wasn’t even drafted.Again, you don’t know this to be a fact. If he regresses as much next year as he did between last year and this year, he will not be the #1 pick.
ND had a decent defense. One that Alabama abused big time and alabama’s offense wasn’t even that good that year.

Lmao if you think Tua is better than TLaw.
He is better. It’s not even close.

Y'all also played him when he should have been in a boot on the sidelines.
bullshite. Tua was as close to 100% as possible in that game. and it had no effect on his game. Injuries are part of the game and many players for both teams were banged up. That’s not a legitimate excuse.

OSU was not the complete team people claimed them to be.

Exactly. Alabama with the Tua LSU faced would wax OSU’s arse.

I just showed they aren't statistically the same in the post above....

The hell with it here is OSU vs LSU
OSU. LSU
Total YPG allowed. 425. 304
Passing YPG allowed. 240. 225
Rushing YPG allowed. 165. 79

Yard per pass att. 7.3. 5.8
Yards per rush att. 5.2. 2.9

Ppg allowed. 20. 19

Similar competition playing better. I dont have access to sack and pressures but I would bet LSU leads there as well.

I don't normally look at single game stats except for limited samples, in the case of this game- LSU vs Bama, and CU vs OSU.

Do you have access to the coaches film? Can you see everything that’s happening on each play or just what network TV shows you? Because there is a world of difference.

The Detroit Lions has DVR bro. He can watch tape endlessly. I’m sure he knows about all the youtube tape too.

I agree however the point here was to show the improvement as of late in the defense so I had to use the last 2 opponents for each team to attempt some balance. Clemson opponents cant ne used much passed that for anything worth while.

Also Bama would fall outside of the time frame I am pointing at due to players returning and attention to detail improving.

Serious question. Are you a fan of Clemson University football?

I pity you either way, and no one here needs their expectations tempered.

If Tua could stay healthy for a whole season, he might've put up a Joe Burrow like season, something Turnover Lawrence isn't capable of, even when his best regular season opponent is Texas A&M

You're telling me they have 2 of the most elite physical WRs that have ever played the game? On one team??? Wow

With a QB equal to Burrow, with an ACC schedule AND their passing stats are still miles behind LSUs...

Clemson showed who they were the second half of the season, especially during the OSU game.

Jeebus, have you watched the last few LSU games?

Clemson was very fortunate to escape vs tOSU. LSU has been obliterating every team they face.

It's cool to realize Clemson is a good team, but why don't you watch some LSU "film"

Sounds like you shouldn’t watch it. Perhaps you’d be better off cowering in the corner with your blanket.

I doubt many serious observers or fans believe this will be a blowout. I expect a shootout. Clemson is not invincible. They were fortunate to beat tOSU.

The Florida and Auburn games are irrelevant other than LSU went through a very good UF defense like shite through a goose. As poor as the O performed in the red zone vs Auburn, they improved. I consider that an outlier.

Clemson will score. LSU has been vulnerable to the back side throw for as long as I can remember and we gave up big plays in other areas. Clemson has the athletes on offense. I keep waiting for someone to stop our offense. If there’s a secret to stopping it, no one has found it. Venables isn’t going against just any college quarterback.

Since you referenced earlier games,I’ll give you Clemson’s lackluster game vs aTm. See, it’s irrelevant.

Frankly, at this level....
LSU Clemson and OSU could beat anyone on a given day.
Bama, because of their style would beat OSU.
I think LSU will beat (outscore) Clemson.

Auburn: Yes the field was shite, but that should also slow down the D-line. Our offense looked like shite in the red zone. That’s supposedly a strength for Clemson, but honestly, OSU dropping TD passes doesn’t mean your red zone offense is great. We need to improve here. If Auburn’s offense was even remotely competent, they’d win this game.

What a bunch of horse shite. We were up 10 on Auburn and let the air out of it. Had Auburn's offense showed some life, we would have been aggressive on our offensive series in the fourth quarter.

If that LSU team played that Auburn team 10 times LSU would win all 10.
