I'm sure JJ is going to try his best to get him a decent NIL package, and sell him on making a bit this year, developing in college for 3 years and turning his 1 million signing bonus into an 8-10 million one 3 years later. He would come out way ahead in that case. Of course there are not guarantees.
It may come down to the kid just wants be a pro ASAP, and doesn't want to wait 3 years though.

The deadline is this afternoon and Cleveland only has a certain amount of money they can spend. There is no posturing.

We all get that, but he'll likely have to turn down a lucrative NIL offer from LSU and receive nothing at juco next year if he goes the juco route.

Next years draft class is bit deeper. I would imagine he would get drafted later but developing and pitching well is only going to help him not hurt him. I am still curious how Jay is going to approach it because we are already at the 39 players he wanted to be at so I'm curious what his approach would be. Cause the pitch is easy come to LSU and develop under Yeskie a LH pitching guru win a CWS and get drafted top 5 like Kade Anderson.

Question is: 1) Play Juco for 1 year and get paid. Risk of Injury and get nothing or 2) Come to LSU for 3 years, develop and compete against the best, and then Get Paid. The risk of injury will be there as well.
If its just about getting that big signing bonus as quick as possible then JUCO is the obvious answer. If you are looking long term and future career path then I would say LSU is the obvious choice.

Jay's history of turning out first round pitchers and getting others to the MLB would be a significant selling point I'd assume.

Playing Juco ball won’t prove anything to scouts. And talk about a small stage. Golden West JC, the option he’s considering, averaged 58 fans at their home games last season (yes you read that right, 58).

He didn’t get what he wanted this time, and there is no guarantee he will next time.

Don't think he necessarily needs to improve his stock, just actually get slot value next time. Cleveland fricked up.
I obviously hope he comes to LSU though, it really just depends on whether he's willing to be at LSU for a few years. Only he knows that.

This is what I am thinking as well. Who's to say he won't get drafted lower than what he just did? The kid has all the talent, but going to JUCO, he may be a name that teams just forget about come a year from now.
Going the JUCO route, going back in the draft next year or coming to LSU for 3 years. None of those scenarios guarantee him anything, other than coming to LSU right now will make him some serious money!
