They're in for a rude awakening with Goodwin. Telling you that right now. It's fair to say that now based on production but this is your starter for a reason. He has deceptive speed but he's compact in power. I'm surprised they didn't start him last year as a true freshman.

I’m excited about Goodwin, but there’s no mystery why he didn’t play much last season. He looked downright ordinary and average last year when he got chances because of his injuries.

He looked like a different back in Spring after he got healthy, so I think he could be a big surprise to some this season.

Actually their points are on point until this team proves otherwise

Anytime the DL front can control a game it’s bad news for the opposing team. Limits the risk you have to take in defense. Can play more conservative in offense.

I watched the 1st half of the Fla st game this weekend and the thing that surprised me was how many times Duquesne was in Fla St’s backfield…numerous times if Duquesne could tackle they would have had significant TFLs…the RBs were elusive and made positive plays most of the time but I think we will tackle those guys most of the time in that situation…their o-line did not make me think they could do anything running the ball against a decent team.

Interesting how they try to rationalize things that any other fan will know just aren’t true. Makes you realize how we may do that in a sense. This was us for a month leading up to UCLA

Or LSU fans now. What do we really know about this team? We haven’t seen this team play yet. I think it’s going to be a good team, but it probably won’t be firing on all cylinders in game one. I think that gives FSU a chance. I’m envisioning a close game that LSU wins.

Kelly is on the downslope of his career, has reached his ceiling, and comes off as very slimy and disingenuous.

I wonder if you think Saban is on the downslope at 70.

Sounds like a very biased perspective to be honest.

Moscona literally had a segment over 10 minutes long on how LSU could make the playoffs this season. Can't blame an FSU podcast for being hopeful (especially given the last two seasons at LSU).

That’s an absurd assumption. Kelly had Notre Dame contending for another playoff spot when he bolted for LSU.

In their analysis did they remember that this D Line held Alabama to no rushing yards last year. Also Bernard Converse was first team all big 12 not exactly a slouch.I think the only position they have advantage at is RB.Their O Line is their weakness aren’t they on their 3rd string Center? Whoever’s O Line plays the best wins this game and I think ours will be improved I trust Kelly when it comes to O Line evaluation,he will have them ready to play

You mean the team with the same coach that took Kelly’s team into overtime last season and narrowly lost?

Different players. Different coordinators. Apples to oranges.

I think our QB, OL and LBs are also better than theirs. RBs about the same without Emery

If our RBs are average then theirs are either average or below average. Our DBs were not average at best at previous schools, they were all conference players who are now covering some of the best WRs in the country and holding their own. That is a pretty good indication that our average DBs will be able to easily handle FSU’s WRs.

We have a pretty big advantage at TE even if Mason Taylor is a freshman. I saw this guy, he’s a freakn animal. He runs great routes and guys just don’t want any of that when he gets going. He actually looks scary when he has the ball and some steam. FSU will not want to tackle that guy so I think we will use him quite a bit. I think we will be very very physical in this game to start, mixing in a short to medium physical style passing attack, then start throwing over the top later in the 1st quarter or 2nd quarter.

Brian Kelly really focused in on the physical aspect of this team in the off-season and that will show up in the 2nd and 4th quarters of this game. I think we start to pull away in the second or start to assert our dominance at that point. Come out in the 2nd half and prove it’s not a fluke then end the game in the 4th with a couple more scores. I didn’t see much physicality from FSU the other night, except for their backs. There is no way those RBs will be breaking 2-3 tackles on every play against this LSU team. It seemed like they broke 30 plus tackles in that game. That won’t happen against this LSU team.

Cain and Goodwin are better than average players and both have good speed and are physical. We could also go with 2 TEs with a RB outside, then move Boutte in the back field to create mismatches. We have pieces that the FSU players and fans really don’t have any idea about YET. Basically we can run multiple style offense with the players we have but FSU needs to establish the run for their offense to work. LSU can pass to set up the run or run to set up the pass. They can’t do that imo. LSU wins because of this.

Never say never. In the second half of the UCLA game, their RBs were dragging our guys.

We have a solid DL, good WRs and a bunch of unknowns. So until we prove we are good people don’t think we are.

We've got to rattled their QB. Let him look up at the Superdome roof a lot.
