It’s funny how recency bias breaks people’s brains around here. Your situation happens one time in 22 years so now people say you never risk it.
“Never”. You not only chance it sometimes, you chance it a lot. And it has never hurt LSU when they’ve chanced it in a 1/4 game.

If Anderson and Eyanson pitch and we win the first two games, we will be throwing Noot against another teams 4th pitcher. I would rather do that than run the risk that Noot has an off day against ALR. Would we beat Little Rock with Noot pitching? Probably.
Don't overthink this.

If he starts anyone besides those two the same people will then say it’s a great move and talk about what a genius he is.

I'm team whatever decision they make. I am good with his reasonings either way.I get both sides.
I wonder if potential rain could also affect this decision. I realize they would wait to start until it clears as long as possible.

He only got late inning mid week action back in the day so his arm should be well rested

yep
wasting a great opportunity to solidify the regional win by letting Evans take care of first game against 4th seed.

They should start Noot as this team is hopeless if it can’t beat terrible Little Rock without using the top 2 pitchers.
But I understand starting Anderson or Eyanson since this team can’t be trusted to score runs against anyone. I also understand keeping them on normal rest if you assume a Friday-Sunday SR.

I think we can assume a F Game 1 in the Super if we make it.
A glance at last year, half the teams got Thursday regional and super starts and the other half got Friday.
no team got short rest.

Jay's history would indicate either Cade or Anthony, depending on the L/R mis of Little Rock's best lineup.
But please Jay, have faith in your bullpen and your hitters to save both of them and have bullpen day and let Shores, Schmidt, or Primeaux and maybe one more experienced BP guy take care of business on Friday.
Then we are set for Saturday and even the losers bracket incase we have another hitting holiday and need to win an extra 1-2 games.
I start either Shores or Schmidt and have several more ready soon if needed.

Did Supers ever start Thursday? I thought some start Saturday to account for rain delays / Monday games, but they never start before Friday.

you are right. everyone gets an extra day of rest

The way we have hit the ball the last month you better start your ace. LSU CANT get into a shootout right now. Period.

Never started on Thursdays. Half start on Friday, the other half on Saturday.

Just my guess, but it should be that the seeds in our bracket (2-3-6-7) should start their Super's on SAT not FRI. The seeds in the 1-4-5-8 bracket should start their Supers on FRI.
If I am right, that means our Super (if we have one!) would start on Sat, June 7. Keeping Anderson on schedule means he would pitch in Game 2 of our Regional on Saturday.

Just not happening I don’t believe

With the way the bats are right now, how can any of you say we should not start our ace? If we go with Noot they could score 4 runs and beat us.
Their starter is probably better than the guys we saw at the back of Ole Miss bullpen

Ole Miss BP is legit and outside of one game nobody was really scoring in Hoover.
LSU hits OOC pitching well and LSU is far better at home. If they aren't going to hit against Little Rock then they truly have issues.
I expect LSU will start their ace, but I also believe they can win this game without it. I'm interested to see if weather is an issue.

This is a good one to chat about. Little Rock is not your typical 4 seed based on their record alone. We have at least 4 other pitchers we can start on Friday. Key is our batting lineup. Tigers bring their hitting shoes to the party and it really doesn't matter who pitches Friday. In JJ we trust. I'm sure he is at least thinking about using anyone but our 2 aces. Let it happen. Geaux Tigers!

Jay will go and should go with Anderson/Eyanson for games 1 and 2.
Get to Sunday and be 2-0, make someone beat you twice.
I'll take our 3rd starter, Evans, over just about any arm DBU, Rhode Island, or Little Rock run out there.
