It will be Anderson. If he started Skenes against a terrible Tulane team in 2023. He’s going to throw Anderson in game 1.
This. And Tulane scored 3 or 4 on Skenes if I remember correctly. You never take the chance of losing game 1 with a stud on the bench.
The baseball experts on the rant love to disagree

Was a 7-2 game. Not exactly a blowout.
I didn't agree with pitching Skenes against Tulane at the time, but I didn't lose my mind over it like many did. I said let's see how it all works out. It worked out perfectly. I can see many reasonings for it. It keeps your guy on his normal routine and sets the tone for the rest of the games.
It would have sucked to have saved Skenes and lost him early against a better team due to the weather delay.
I also feel like as bad as Tulane was they seem to have been coming on, but most teams are after winning their conference tournament. I still like to believe this Little Rock team is even weaker than that Tulane team, but that's just a blind assumption without even looking past the record. Little Rock is 8-16 in their conference.I just looked it up and Tulane was also 8-16 in their conference. Way less wins though.
It has to be tempting to hold your two aces here, but the argument to keep one of your aces on normal rest also makes sense. I know some Supers start Saturday though. I'm good with whatever they feel is best as long as it works out.

I’m sure he will, but I’d definitely like the decision to use Noot.

Agree with this completely.

LSU has a long history of throwing a 3 when they play a 4 seed

Jay will throw Eyanson or Anderson against Little Rock. He leaves nothing to chance
Leaving to chance would be having our bullpen face the #19 RPI on Sunday and having one of the best LSU pitchers ever facing RPI #240 on Friday. Little Rock is below SWAC teams, it is one of the worst 4-seeds we have ever been gifted.

I don't believe that was BS at all.
It wasn't to stay flexible, it was to ensure Eyanson got work in.
No longer have the luxury of being guaranteed two games in Hoover.

Northwestern has about 20 more wins.

Can’t risk throwing anyone else and immediately having to go into your pen if they suck, throws off the entire weekend pitching plan.
I think we can risk that. I don’t think there’s much risk at all.
The best argument to pitch Anderson is to make sure he’s pitching on full rest next week.

This team got run ruled against northwestern state at home earlier this year and some of yall think jay isn’t throwing Eyanson or Anderson.
to be fare, we won’t literally every other midweek game.
I think Jay looks at Regionals as a war of attrition.
win game 1 and 2 and then you’re playing a team on game 4, and if they win they’re on game 5 and the last 3 games they have been pitching for their season.
I think we beat UNC in a 3 game series last year, but we played them in a 5 game series.

No justifiable reason to start Anderson IMO. I didn't think that there was a good reason to start Skenes either.
And we won it all. Who would have known Jay knows more than our dumbass fans

winner's bracket is a huge advantage. The percentages are extremely in favor of the team who sits in winner's bracket. The one game Anderson didn't throw on his schedule this year he had one of his worst games. They will throw him game 1 and if LSU rakes a big lead up early, he will be pulled early.

Little Rock beat Ole Miss this season in a midweek game.

I don’t see Jay altering the regular rotation. It would be nice to be able to pull Anderson early but our bats haven’t been there lately.

UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS AT LITTLE ROCK.
There is no "Little Rock" just like there is no "Louisiana."

Our top 2. So they be ready for super

Recency bias has fried some of y’alls brains. We're not gonna get shut out again by non-SEC pitching in our own packed house.
Also, you gotta do what it takes to win this weekend, not set your rotation for the super regional. Never ever look ahead! Be smart and start your aces on Saturday and Sunday. The pitching plan is to have your starters pitch complete game shutouts. If that fails, bring in relievers based on the situation, inning, etc.
Skenes started vs Tulane because Jay didn't want Skenes to get wasted by a rain delay after 2 innings (potentially) on Saturday. 2023 is not a good indicator of what Jay will do in 2025. Different team, opponent, situation. Different everything!
Noot is the easy decision. Now, will Jay start Noot on 5 days rest? He should. 5 days rest in the post-season is plenty and Noot has low mileage. Shoot, I'd start Schmidt if Noot isn't ready. Just have Shores ready to go if the starter gets a quick hook.
Kade, AE and the pen are all well rested. Fire away at will. Win this week. Worry about next week if we win this week.
UALR has 3 batters over .300 with min 100 AB (.321 is tops).
Top HR hitter has 8 dingers
Team ERA - 6.33
Top 2 starters are both RHP. 4.83 and 5.24 ERAs
I'll be pissed if Kade or AE is wasted on these chumps!
