Just to many negative outcome plays, at times when momentum is needed.

Incomple passes, taking loss/sack, inaccuracies, poor decisions....just seem to occur at times when hes most needed.

Makes some terrific throws, runs, etc Yes

Last night, LSU needed a 1st down only, and the game is over, before overtime.

He couldnt deliver. Too many times where the top dog is needed, and he disappears. Hes good enough to keep things interesting, and a really good athlete. Just not THAT guy

Next year will be as disappointing if no real changes are made.

He’s a high risk high reward player. He’s got to learn to protect the football especially at crucial moments.

I think he’s have a too many int regardless but I also don’t think i’ve seen a QB who has almost every bad pass go off a defender or WR and go straight a defender as often as he does.

We don’t have a dominant next level game breaking wide out.

You can only teach so much..much of it needs to be an instinct as well. He just doesnt have it, for whatever reason.

While all that's true, do you really want to start over with a QB next year. Because if you do then you're on another 2-year plan at minimum. You need him to learn this year from his mistakes and become better next year and lead the team to the playoffs. He's already LED one team to the playoffs he knows what it takes even though it was a shittier conference. I don't think he's all that great either I think he sucks but if you play somebody else next year it better be somebody within your system that's there already and not coming in because then you're starting all over again.

SL has done some things this season to fairly garner some criticism. But last night honestly he was one of the only bright spots. For the most part he performed courageously and admirably. He had almost no help from o line in running game. Last night wasn’t on him.

He has actually improved in several areas. He would be a very good QB if he protected the ball. People seem to forget he barely had a month of practice and about 9 months before he played football. He throws one bad pass every game that ends up an INT.

If ever learns to protect the ball more he will be a great player. He throws some really pretty balls. If he stays another year I think he'll be significantly improved.

I think his accuracy issues are lack of practice/timing with WR. If he works on his accuracy and decision making he can be elite.

it depends on who’s available. There’s a very short list, but I think we probably should and will roll with Sam next year.

His season so far is basically a perfect mirror of Matt Corral, Jaxon Dart, and Austin Simmons first seasons in Lane Kiffin’s offense. The lone exception being the 5th year QB.

Corral had 14 interceptions and famously a 6 turnover game against LSU year one.

Dart had 11 interceptions and a fumble year one.

Simmons had 5 interception in like 3 games to start last year.

Take with that what you will.

We just need to accept that we were never going to make the playoffs this year and Lane already hinted to that at the beginning of the season. I just had high hopes that coaching could overcome player deficiencies

It didn't hurt he had Skattebo either. Who led the country in rushing I believe.

Even at State he was always just a 60% passer. That is who he is .
Makes big plays and boneheaded plays at the same damn time.

I've noticed this as well which is why I think LSU should invest to keep him next year because I think LSU makes big strides with him. All indications are he's a hard working QB and he does have a fire in him.

They've got to invest more at TE/WR though. There's practically nobody out there receiving that scares defenses right now. I can see why Kiffin was trying so hard to get a secondary threat to Green. I'll bet he loads up in portal and sends some of these guys off. I'd keep Watkins, Harris, maybe Wilson and some of the younger guys. Need a true No 1 in portal.

that’s exactly what our quarterback did lol. Why does that matter?

You can disagree about thinking he would’ve been a better choice, but using that as a reason is kind of lame.

He didn’t want to be there in the first place they forced him to return. shite team around him can’t blame him.
