the WR tipped it. It was high though, but if he doesn’t get a hand on it it’s going to the sideline.

I said that. Bad lucked it was tipped to someone, but he missed by 4’. If he makes even a decent throw it’s a catch.

It’s wild how bad the takes are today.

Leavitt played very well last night. He’s clearly improving and trending the right way. His INTs are as random and unlucky as a QB can be, it’s why turnover worthy play is a metric that gets tracked. Even the fumble I can see he’s trying to get the ball to the back. He should just eat that sack, but you’ll never totally coach that mindset out of him, and I don’t think you want to. He wasn’t a turnover machine at ASU.

He was in total command of the offense last night with no run game. That was the issue. We averaged like 2.7 yards a carry against a defense everyone else was able to run on. That’s why you stall inside the 10 and settle for FGs. It’s also why Lane decides to punt, I don’t blame him for not trusting the OL to give us a yard last night. He saw us give up 5 TFLs over a stretch of like 20 plays.

This wasn't on SL, Kiffin decided to punt.

If he doesn't understand this by now, I don't think he will.

Maybe he’s not, but I’m a lot more interested in commentary from people who can spell the word “too” correctly.

Cause youre a simple man with no real contribution, so you look for other areas to be a bitch.

Last night was his most accurate game of throwing this year imo
He has improved, but still has way to go to be the top teams. Our play calling really limits our offensive production.

Like the rest of the team, Leavitt has been better at home than on the road outside of the bad LA Tech game.

He showed what he can be in the first half. I know that’s not what anyone is going to focus on today, but he started the game on fire. I think he was over 80% in the first quarter and really strong overall all first half. It frustrating to see this and some of the progress he made in the A&M game and then him still lose focus and get off the rails.

All of the good from the 1st half went out the window after he had the high throw for a pick to start the 3rd quarter. He had a few great passes in the 2nd half, but he was still shaky from that point on. The fumble was absolutely ridiculous. He just hasn’t handled the road games or the LA Tech game very well. Once he has a problem, he doesn’t complete brush it off and recover.

All that said, Clark isn’t close to ready for SEC play. No one is replacing Leavitt unless he is injured.

He also consistently misses wide open receivers or neglects to pass to wide open receivers with big opportunities. He cant read defenses and hes a insecure about his down the field passing capabilities.

Not turning the ball over and giving Kentucky a short field to score. Very stupid take

My main takeaway was SL was one of the overall bright spots in that game. That turnover as well as so many others are absolutely troubling. But without Sam’s ever improving passing, better decision making on when to run and overall toughness- we’re not even in that game.

He drilled a perfect 3rd down pass to Watkins that could have and perhaps should have gotten the first down. Criticize his turnovers if you want but without his improved passing and running decisions- we’re not even in that game.

He also doesn’t play like he’s already got two years under his belt. At times he plays like a true freshman. Some of those mistakes he made were just freshman mistakes. I think you get a lot of good with him and a little bad, and that’s just the way it’s going to be.

I agree. Thats my point. Unfortunately, you cant survive the brutal SEC with those qualities.
I think when qbs can scramble a little, their brain doesnt realize SEC talent can run too. It negates his speed to where a scramble had him in the clear, to having to rethink on the go, and adapt somehow.

It could be much much worse if you look at A&M. Leavitt is not the problem.

I find this post kind of crazy.

I’m more confident in Leavitt today than I have been all year. He’s come a long way since Clemson. If he keeps developing, he’s going to be the biggest reason we are a contender next year.

A lot of our fans can’t see anything beyond wins and losses.
