omg not this dumbass false equivalence again apologist BS.

JD saw the receivers. he was just scared to throw but ONLY on intermediate. he still threw plenty short and deep. we provided the stats many times. this proves you have not watched a game or are football ignorant.

prove to me burrow missed.did not see wide arse open receivers. show me the videos. drops and batted balls affecting his completion rate is NOT missing/not seeing wide open guys.

just stop man. STOP.

He is moving too quick through his progressions and deciding to run. Its his 3rd game in the system. LK and Charlie will get his footwork and timing fixed/developed. People are being way too critical. Its his 3rd game in the friggin system give him time to develop. JHC

I will add lacks confidence in his arm and is a little slow to pull the trigger. Hardly looks like an SEC QB. Nuss was much better when healthy.

He's not as far along because he missed so much time with the foot injury.

He will get better as the season progresses, but It shouldn't take a full season to get it together.

Leavitt started 2 years at ASU. He should be way better than now.

He’s having trouble letting the ball go when he sees it.

His instinct is to run when thing do go right…and any attempt to throw it after that point is one with poor mechanics.

Even on designed rollouts he’s often making the wrong decision.

He’s a project. You invest in him because you believe you can have him improve on all of these things and as he does his ability to run just becomes more dangerous.

He has a long way to go though.

Anybody expecting us to look like a well oiled machine on offense this fast is delusional. This stuff takes time. WE are 3 games into this. Kiffin and Charlie will get it right.

It's rarely just one thing or one player. There are probably a lot of issues happening to affect the entire offense that build upon themselves.

1. Leavitt has shown his proclivity when there is pressure or the initial receiving option isn't open is to take off and run.

2. The OL, particularly the interior, hasn't been great. Thus, increasing the pressure and speeding Leavitt up who, in that situation, prefers to run rather than try to maneuver the pocket and keep his eyes downfield.

3. The WRs aren't getting a lot of separation on their own. With no quick option to throw to, a OL allowing pressure, and a QB who is prone to speeding things up at the first sign or pressure it all equals an inconsistent offense.

Maybe but again he missed spring and we are 3 games in. He also missed some practice this week. And practice matters way more than you think. Lane and Charlie have a track record of being QB gurus. Give them time.

The reality is the first game was fools gold because of how awful Clemson is on offense. Anyone with a brain knew it was going to take time for this offense to gel. Green being out is going to affect that timeline though.

Not even close .

The kid needs time and tape..
Here I will do the numbers for you. He will have to take care of the ball better but...Here is the comparison of Jayden, Joe and Sam year 1 post transfer. Make sure to read the last paragraph. Brought to you by AI.

Good morning! Here's how it stacks up — and it's a fun three-way split, since Leavitt's just three weeks into his LSU career while Daniels (2022) and Burrow (2018) are both looking back at their debut seasons.

Sam Leavitt (2026) — dual-threat, high-variance start

vs. Clemson (W, 51-10): 16/28, 230 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT passing; 12 car, 113 yds, 2 TD rushing
vs. Louisiana Tech (W, 45-14): 25/38, 344 yds, 1 TD, 3 INT passing; 22 yds, 3 TD rushing
at Ole Miss (L, 24-32): 158 yds passing (full comp/att not yet published); 4-yd rushing TD
3-game line: ~732 passing yards, at least 2 pass TD, 4+ INT, 2-1 record, 6 total rushing TDs

Jayden Daniels (2022) — efficient, mistake-free, dual-threat

vs. Florida State (L, 23-24): 25/34, 209 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT passing; 114 yds rushing
vs. Southern (W, 65-17): 10/11, 137 yds, 3 TD, 0 INT passing; 18-yd rushing TD
vs. Mississippi State (W, 31-16): 22/37, 210 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT passing; 16 car, 93 yds, 1 TD rushing
3-game line: 57/82 (69.5%), 556 yds, 6 TD, 0 INT passing; 2-1 record

Joe Burrow (2018) — game-manager who grew into it

vs. Miami, Arlington (W, 33-17): 11/24, 140 yds, 0 TD, 0 INT
vs. Southeastern Louisiana (W, 31-0): 10/20, 151 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT passing; 1-yd rushing TD
at Auburn (W, 22-21): 15/34, 249 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT
3-game line: 36/78 (46.2%), 540 yds, 3 TD, 0 INT passing; 3-0 record

Big picture: Daniels and Burrow both opened turnover-free, but Daniels did it far more efficiently (69.5% completion vs. Burrow's 46.2%) and with double the touchdowns — Burrow was still finding his footing as a game manager before LSU's passing attack opened up later that season. Leavitt is the clear outlier: easily the most explosive arm and legs of the three (already over 700 passing yards plus 6 rushing TDs), but it's come with turnover trouble — 4+ interceptions in three games.

They switched between zone and man non-stop. Without pre-snap motion, he was unable to process.

Not trying to pick on you but this is exactly how we felt about Jayden Daniels his first year. In fact, everyone was saying how he regressed each year since his amazing freshman year at ASU. In fact, the parallels are a little eerie.

I can guarantee you Ole Myth fans felt this way about Dart in 22. He looked almost exactly like Leavitt. He tucked and ran at the first sign of trouble and had issues coming off his first read. Dart was younger and less experienced, but he also wasn’t coming off a year of barely playing.

If Leavitt doesn’t progress and Lane loses trust in him, he will get replaced. Lane has enough cred in the QB development department to be trusted as to who is best qualified to run the offense. He’s already moved guys making less money up the depth chart, so that alone won’t keep Leavitt behind center.
