I really think we're using Leavitt in the wrong scheme.

I don't know if Lane's got the balls to change things some... but then again, maybe he was doing that.

Seriously, all joking aside- LSU goes old-school, run heavy. Jones up the gut, with Leavitt reading the defense and either handing off to him, or pulling and running it outside. Basically option.
1-2 passing plays in the normal offense, which would have been Green rolling out as a target on the plays he keeps.
All the "modern high powered offense" passing plays get minimized or dropped, other than something occasional just to keep the defense honest.

Leavitt (and Jones) could run that VERY well, and a healthy Green fits that perfectly. That stops putting Leavitt into a situation he's not good at (straight dropback in the pocket), at least until we can smooth things out more. Problem is, Green's out now, so you need to find that 1 easy target somewhere else.

While you are right that Leavitt hasn't done anything that bad daniels also had 17tds and 3 picks.

Yea and Daniels really started to improve from the Florida game on with Arkansas being the outlier down the stretch but again we’ve played 3 games, his stinker vs Auburn was in week 5. One thing I’ve seen with Leavitt is when we dial up something for Green he’s on time and accurate. When he’s looking for Watkins he’s also more decisive. I think there’s an element of trust that’s factoring in when he’s looking for other guys and it’ll just take some time to gel.
