Lane lost trust with Baker tonight

There’s no going back after tonight. Baker is a DC that will help you go 8-4:9-3, nothing more

I think Lane’s mindset and coaching style will change to be more aggressive like he was at Ole Miss with weaker defenses. Our D can’t be trusted again

I agree. The defense may have been elite, or at least very close, before all of the injuries. It’s not elite right now though, and Baker has a really nasty habit of giving up quick chunk play drives in crucial situations.

His defenses almost always give up scores right before halftime. It’s pretty much guaranteed.

Let’s hope Baker is finished here and finds a head coaching job after this year

Baker sucked. Lane wasn't much better with all the chess games that only burned timeouts and the conservative mentality.

I can already see the future.

This year it'll be "Blake Baker fricked our defense, that's why we lost."
Next year it'll be "Well we just got a new DC, that's why we lost."

It'll be the Brian Kelly years all over again. We were just one coordinator away!

Only an idiot would have trusted our defense the way they were playing tonight.

They only played a little better when uk was already in fg range. So to suddenly expect the defense to stop them from getting the middle of the field was dumb.

LSU’s lack of D coordinator continuity since 2019 is a major reason why we suck year in and year out. Now they’ve stuck with a guy who doesn’t have what it takes to get you to a championship level.

What about lane’s trust with his offense? Does he trust himself to make a different call in that situation in the future—the 4th and 1?

But baker already allowed ole miss to march easily down the field in no time, I’m not sure why Kiffin thought tonight would be any different. Minchey might not be Chambliss, but you don’t have to be as we’ve seen

Baker isn’t the problem. It’s depth, which has spread around with NIL caps.

I promise you Lane is more mad at himself for putting the defense in those situations to begin with. Everybody is just ignoring them getting off the field after the fumble with a huge stop and the turnover on downs after the INT. Everybody wants to put this on Baker to keep the blame from Lane. It’s on both of them. And I’m behind Lane 100000%. Lane is an offensive guy and his offense had the ball twice with the lead in the 4th and didn’t salt the game away. Lane is thinking about that more than anything I guarantee it.

I don’t care if he gets run over in the parking lot, I don’t see the big alum giving more money with his arse still here. He can go be a fricking assistant with his butt buddy Sloan

Baker is just not it. I said last year after the Texas A&M game that he needed to go. But we kept him. He’s just not top tier. We need to go get Louisiana Tech’s DC. Or any other change.

Hate to break it to some of you but the offense is no great shakes either. Let’s face it, needing to rely on trick plays to score touchdowns isn’t exactly confidence inspiring. And our Lane-picked QB is an absolute turnover machine.

Hold on did baker just call another passing blitz on a team that threw 7 passes all night yet ran 2896 yards off those blitzes????
