Kept it Classy. I think his emotions next time we meet will be much different. Tough loss, but how did Lane and Blake not know that constant pressure is the only way to beat Chambliss? Our D-line looked mortal. The O-line looked much better in the second half—that was the story of the night.
Chambliss is very good, but he should be as a six-year starter playing under a TRO. This isn’t talked about enough. This loss may help us in the long run, but it definitely knocked our swagger down a notch. Still, nobody in this conference looks invincible, especially those who have played against real competition.
Toughest possible opponent to lose to, but it’s not the season. I still believe in this team.

At the 2026 SEC Media Days, LSU was picked to finish fifth in the SEC, behind:
1. Georgia
2. Texas
3. Ole Miss
4. Texas A&M
On the fan predictions most people had 9-3.
Suddenly the season starts and we are supposed to be the team?

They shut Ole Miss’s running game down. Almost half the yards of LSU for 2.5 yards per gain.

Even with time, he isn’t looking down field. It’s a constant staring down the rush and breaking the pocket early. Oline deserves their blame, but it isn’t entirely on them.

Leavitt needs more time but these ceappy first halves need to stop. We win this without that. We win this if OM has a qb less than what Chambliss is

Agree with you on offense. This above is what really hurt bad. I get it, Trinidad is elite, but we missed tackles tonight that would have resulted in changes of downs and Baker did not do a good job, period.

Other than the last drive of the 1st half, I think the defense played a good enough game. The 2nd half was great.
I blame Leavitt for this loss. He really shite the bed last night IMO. He missed several WIDE arse OPEN receivers on what should have been very easy throws. In hindsight we shouldn't be surprised knowing that he missed all of last season and all of spring. He was always going to be rusty. But damn he missed some easy throws. And even some of his completions were off target. He is not a good passer at all. How much are we paying him? Whatever the price is, it's too much. Hopefully he can improve.

Trinidad played well, but he was not perfect. He threw some balls where his WR bailed it out and LSU just failed when in position.
LSU secondary had opportunities to play much better. There were several times they were in the right place and just failed to execute. The defense had Ole Miss in 3rd and long many times and just didn’t win the down.
People can argue about not bringing more pressure, but they didn’t get to him consistently. Also they didn’t execute on the backend. Considering the blown plays in LSU’s secondary and the kind of bad breaks where Ole Miss made some really against the odds plays the defensive scheme was not that bad.
The offense really missed with some bad timing on false start penalties. Leavitt just didn’t play well in the passing game in my opinion. He seemed quick to run also.

We held a great offense with a heisman candidate at QB to one successful 2nd half drive and some of the plays he made on that drive can’t be schemed for. Our defense couldn’t get off the field in the first half. They played great in the second half considering who we were playing. If you didn’t recognize the defense adjustments, that’s on you, not Baker.

Have to give him a little time. Expecting miracles the first season is unreasonable. We are just getting started. Look at what happened to Texas A&M today with multiple seasons under their coach’s belt. Kiffin will get it figured out.
