I’ve said it before , but I think Kiffin is probably Saban’s favorite “son” now a days

I think both Kirby and Lane are his two favorites. Lane is the kid who wrecked the family car. Brilliant, funny, and a smartass always finding new ways to drive his parents crazy. Somehow, they could never stay mad because he was so talented. Kirby is the straight A’s, never missed curfew kid.

Saban during that clip

The part about calling Kirby and BK whenever he found out his daughter was dating Whit was hilarious

That was a very fun interview to watch. I loved how Saban was enjoying listening to him so much and I thought it was hilarious that Kiffin called Kirby and Brian Kelly to talk about Weeks when he found out Landry was dating him

Absolutely. All of us that have daughters are doing something similar.

It’s feeling like Kiffin is going to be the gateway for Saban to come back around LSU more and for our fans to finally love him again. If it were up to Kiffin I’m sure he’d have a Saban statue built outside of Tiger Stadium.

The way Saban said “call Me” has to really rub bama and ole Miss fans the wrong way. You just know deep down Saban wants Kirby and Kiffin to win.

It’s really wild how former Saban assistants now lead 3 of the biggest brands in CFB. LSU UGA & Texas.

Lane is different now. He's matured. It seems he really genuinely loves LSU and is excited to "coach in Tiger Stadium". What I really love about him is how he takes everything that Saban says and puts it to use. Saban is a true mentor to him and they both embrace it. MAN LSU football is gonna be fun again!!!!

That was great. Thanks for posting.

ETA: I love how relaxed Lane is right now.

I'd welcome Saban back around the program with open arms now and it has nothing to do with Kiffin being here. The man built our program and is no longer coaching our rival so he's welcome anytime in my opinion. I know he wouldn't want to because he's still on the Bama payroll, but I'd be good with it.

Saban is definitely rooting for Kiffin, there's no doubt about it. It's also public knowledge that Saban pushed him to take the job.

If you can’t watch this interview and the other interviews Kiffin has done in the last 3 months and see how different he is, then you aren’t paying attention.

This is a guy that recognizes he now has the program needed to be successful not just for 1-2 seasons but for a career if he wants it.

His answers are sincere and that of a veteran than that of a guy who is only aiming to string and shoot arrows at others.

A Lane Kiffin that is in control of his presence is a scary thing. The rest of the SEC should be scared.

And it shows you why Ole Miss fans are so upset. It’s not much different than the way we felt when we had to play Saban for the last 20 years. They know what they had and they no they have no control over it now.

I was thinking the same thing

He looks at Lane going to LSU as Saban's "2nd chance" to take the best job in America and run with it

This. Somehow Saban is living vicariously through Lane now as he stated many times leaving LSU is one of the biggest regrets of his life. He probably really did think about coming back but his body just wouldn't let him.

It’s probably been said, but this is a very different Kiffin from when he was at UT. He’s hitting LSU with a lot of momentum and pushing all the right buttons. Love how he engrained himself into the people and culture of Louisiana. A lot more humble. A lot more thoughtful. We are getting him at the perfect time and there are many things lining up. Not to mention the fit. Many dismissed how important that is with the former coach. I think Lane is going to show you just how important fit really is. This is going to be a really fun run and the impacts of this hire have yet to be realized. Enjoy every minute.

Love what Lane is doing. But I don’t buy the fit argument. BK simply was not working hard enough and not doing the things necessary to win at the highest level.

Yes. When you hear Kiffin and Saban talking about how to use a player like Tredez Green as a big time mismatch then you really realize just how bad Brian Kelly was. So excited to know this offense and Team will be in good hands going forward with Coach Kiffin. LFG
