speak with your wallet. so glad i dumped my season tix for good in 2021.

sounds like the whole gameday tailgate experience has been ruined.

we already know the piped in music has messed up the game experience

but yes there should be no shootings or all these dope head thugs walking all over.

give up tix and threaten LSU. money talks. contact the governor also.

I’m not advocating anything but why are these dipshits trying to be cool and smoke skunkyass weed? Gummies are cheap but I guess you’re not edgy and cool if you’re not smoking

This is on the mayor. Contact his office. City and campus police should be coordinating on this. In the past Baton Rouge mayors have let violence foment for political reasons. This new mayor shouldn’t have this problem,….yet.

Baton Rouge, unfortunately, has had multiple periods of extreme violence. It’s happened before. Get ready for a crazy ride to stop it. But it has to be stopped.

I graduated from LSU and have been going to games for 30+ years. I have never seen campus like what I saw yesterday. It was incredible, and not in a good way.

Posting here unfortunately will not change anything. You guys need to email the LSU athletics email and the board of supervisors.

But also don’t complain when LSU makes more spots paid. That will be the solution.

About the only parking spots that aren’t paid (not a lot) on the North side of campus are usually filled by noon. This element coming in and causing issues are coming from areas outside of LSU’s footprint so unless LSU buys out that area north of campus they can’t control it by just saying we will charge to park.

I’ve been tailgating on the north side of campus for 30 years. Yesterday was an old man, yelling at clouds moment for me. Throughout the day more and more people trickled into the Northgate area that have no business seeing the inside of a classroom. In fact, I highly doubt the majority are university students. They were there for a party not LSU football.

My wife was generally worried as we exited onto Highland by the band practice facility last night. Near that smoke shop on Aster there were people everywhere walking in the middle of the street. Not letting cars move. Cops just standing outside their patrol vehicles doing nothing about it.

Since the Southern game a couple of years back one thing we have noticed when leaving campus is the amount of traffic actually heading south towards campus. I’m stunned it’s allowed as in years past they would actually contraflow traffic further North on Highland. Was always much smoother getting out when they did that.

Seems like you could kill 2 birds here if you restricted traffic on Highland south towards campus after games. If nothing else they need a much larger police presence near the North gates just for the deterrent.

Sorry but Landry only cares about Rent a Tigers for games not safety.

Actually, this is one Landry can actually be useful for - he will get to grandstand and get some spotlight which is really all he's interested in - but it may result in some actual good this time.

We have a winner!

Most people (including myself at one point) thought Tate was doing a great job as President, but in reality, behind the scenes his main goal was to get as many minorities into LSU as possible, at whatever means necessary.

Tate was a smiling fraud.

Illegal carrying of a weapon with drugs. It’s a felony.

Even now with permitess concealed carry? And marijuana dispensaries in every city in the state now?

Seems kinda heavy handed to me. Concealed carry - legal. Possessing weed - almost legal now. Both combined is a felony?

BR is copying the Jackson model of creating the most miserable city in the country. It's a shame LSU has to be located there.

How’s that gonna help? There’s no real criminal penalty for weed anymore. Probably not for concealed carry anymore.

If you stop and frisk someone now, find a bag of weed and a handgun … what is the crime? How worried would this criminal element be?

Possessing a firearm on university property is a felony. Not to mention the vast majority of people who will be found with weapons on campus are convicted felons.

My wife and I noticed this as well. We leave from our parking lot north towards downtown. Used to be easy to get out, now there is a huge influx of traffic into the campus right after the game complicating the traffic problems further.

I also agree, maybe I’m misremembering but it definitely seems like a lot of this started with the Southern game.

There’s a threshold amount of marijuana you can have with a weapon and it’s knocked down to a misdemeanor, but still a crime.

It’s also a felony to possess a weapon by a felon, or to have a gun on campus at all so there’s plenty of avenues for charges here.

Permitless concealed carry doesn’t impact any of the above.

The sorority girls dress like this too. And the boys constantly fight. Will they be frisked & arrested too?

The cops never had a problem chasing MIPs at the frat tailgates back in my day.

What was going at the tailgate on lawn of west side of the Miller lake would have gotten frats shut down. I know weed is a bit different now a days than even 5 years ago but still, it was a shite show over there.

It’s not a race thing, it’s a crowd that is noticeably trashier than your average LSU fan which is not easy to do
