Noticed how BK referred to having discussions with "the family" when team returned from bowl. Based on what I'm hearing the choice of words were deliberate.

Schools absolutely do. I had an academic scholarship and crapped it away because of violating a school rule plus kicked off the baseball team I was on. Albeit, it was decades ago. I guess tolerance of pathetic behavior is acceptable today.

Honest assessment is when it became public that he wasn't going to play because of NIL, I don't think there was really much of a path forward for him at LSU
You can't have that publicly come out and then give in to the kid. It would set a horrible precedent and make Kelly look weak.
If kids handle NIL in this fashion and it becomes public, you just need to move on, especially if they're skipping games. Can't have that culture

Great! I assume you are referring to his high school performance. Damn sure was not a great performance when he subbed earlier in the season.

I have no idea what his family's financial situation is but it just might be that $200-300k could be a life-changing windfall. No matter how much you love your team a man's family should always come first. Bonita, LA is not a wealthy area.

I have a feeling these kids get nil money the year they sign and get butt hurt the next year or two when they find out an up and coming player of their position is getting more out of high school
