La. Appeals Court sides with players after SEC appeal

This appeal was filed secretly with the appeals court after the SEC had asked another judge to review the ruling.
While that decision was pending, the SEC went to the 1st Circuit Appeals Court who issued their decision on Monday night, Sept. 14.
“They just won’t quit,” District Attorney Tony Clayton said. “Greg Sankey is a misguided missile, and he’s going to ruin the SEC.”

Yesterday an Arkansas judge upheld a previous ruling that two players that attended a mini camp can remain on Arkansas’ roster without any penalties from the NCAA.
Harris and Wright need to continue to pursue their lawsuit against Sankey and the SEC.

The SEC will pay those two players a nice sum for their prejudicial treatment. Just to get back at Kiffin via Sankey. I hope they sue Sankey personally as well. He’s done.

I will lose my shite if somehow this drags LSU negatively again. Tony Clayton and the players attorneys just need to file a lawsuit against the SEC and NCAA and get damages.

Sankey rose through college athletics ranks through compliance office. His interpretation of the “rules” must be followed even if he’s wrong. A system he emboldened is falling apart and he refuses to see the forrest through the trees.

Correct.
LSU is not a party to this particular dispute. It is the players vs. the NCAA and SEC. That's what so many people failed to realize because the media misled the public.
Tony LOVES to hear himself speak (though he is a very effective lawyer). But he's probably not that off base by suggesting Sankey is a misguided missile that is going to destroy the SEC (at least as we know it). The SEC and other major conferences all came together to pass after-the-fact rules to exclude this particular class of players from the college football and basketball marketplaces. I just don't see how this doesn't eventually lead to antitrust suits against the NCAA and major conferences. If those are successful, it will end the SEC as we know it.

There was no secret filing. You can't secretly file anything with the supreme court. There wasn't a ruling made in favor of the players or anyone. The only thing that was ruled on is that the state Judge (in this case Judge Jorden) has the authority to grant a stay. That's all that this was.

Except it’s the right thing to do. So don’t care who the judge or state is. Saying these are ex NFL players is beyond stupid.
