1) They CANNOT let Bama get ahead by 14 points or more.
2) Oline has to be able to block Bama Dline (tall order but can be done).
3) Daniels has to continue playing well.
4) No special teams mistakes.
5) Bama will try to take away Boutte. Other WR’s have to step up.
6) PRAY.

our offense has to go full speed the whole game. Need as many posessions as possible. this is not the game to take the air out and try to keep it close and pull out at the end les miles style. kelly knows this. bama will rout us if we try that crap.

we have to pressure young or the game is over before it starts. we will give up big plays. limit them and try to keep them out the EZ. keep ball in front and hope for mistakes. hold to FG's. i expect a shootout.

Not worried at all about other WR stepping up. They've been up since Daniels finally settled down. Their back end Defense is not very good and it beat up at the moment.

IMO, it comes down to LSU D limiting the HR with Gibbs and containing Young (keeping him in the pocket. When he extends plays, he typically finds an open receiver for a big play.

You need a little luck to beat Bama so, hopefully they continue their trend of undisciplined football and drop another 17 fouls like they did against TN.

We have to slow the game down. I know the last two weeks have been fun watching the offense march up field, but we need to start taking a bit more time on our drives to keep them off the field.

Perkins needs to get 50-60 plays.

Defensive line has to be able to apply a rush without the need for linebackers or secondary... Perkins can spy.

Offensive Line needs to establish a run game early.

Daniels cannot be afraid to toss the ball into a spot and allow the receiver to get to it.

Our WRs are stout. Throw the ball up and let them make a play.

We need to hit him a few times, cannot have missed tackles. When he slides away from pressure their offense seems to light up.

Ideally, we need to stop them on their first 1 or two possessions and score when we get the ball back. A tall order but we need to have them playing from behind. That plus pressure is much more likely to induce mistakes, IMO.

quickest way for us to lose. see my post above.

limiting theirs limits ours and puts them all at a premium. if we slip up and fail on defense while we use up clock on offense and do not get it done they can run away with it.

nope full speed ahead unless we are up by two scores with 2 minutes to go and we are running effectively, then we can take the air out ball and ice it ONLY If we can run on them only that late in the game.

We absolutely cannot miss tackles and when BY gets flushed out the pocket, we have to tackle him and NOT allow him to juke our players and then hit an open receiver on like 3rd and 13. This is so crucial. I hate them bi$&es SO MUCH! Sorry, just venting there!??

yup. pressure has messed bryce up before. we will just have to live with it. if he burns us he burns us. cannot let him sit back all day scanning field.

Outside of not punching it in the endzone in the first quarter (nabers ran a bad route too close out of bounds and had a TD catch pushed out by an inch) vs Ole miss LSU played essentially a perfect game offensively. Gotta do a better job staring fast defensively vs BAMA. Bamas secondary is beatable, and their dline can be ran on. We should have Dellinger back to reinforce the LG spot (he was arguably our best olineman pre-injury). Major burns should be back in the secondary preventing the miscommunications we have had occasionally and we also have 2 more weeks for Armoni Goodwin to get back in game shape (he was running for 8 yac vs Ole miss on limited snaps).

If we play like we did against ole miss we will beat Alabama. We are by far the best defense they will play during the regular season, and we are the second best offense they will have played by a wide margin. We also need to make sure we kick EVERYTHING out the endzone. Also don't catch anything behind the 15yd line on kicks and punts, it's not worth the muff. I get an anxiety attack every time I see our team wave for a fair catch...

Agree. Any "keys to beating Bama" have to start with how you're going to contain Young. He singlehandedly kept them in the Tennessee game. In the State game, the Bulldogs regularly had pressure on him but he was able to consistently avoid them long enough for a WR to get open.

Long drives that eat up the clock
It’s how we beat Florida in 97
Spurrier just didn’t have a lot of possessions to use

Saban told us the key himself. This Bama team doesn't have the confidence of prior teams. He said they were actually intimidated by Tenner before the game even started.

LSU just has to go out and let Bama know on the very first play that they will be leaving Death Valley with an L. Our guys right now are finding their swag and only getting more confident each week. They won't be scared going into this game. They're going to be hungry.

This may be the game that Saban actually does announce his retirement in the post presser. Even if he doesn't, LSU will be riding from now on.

The defense needs to be disruptive and aggressive from the start. Don’t fall behind by 2+ scores trying to play it safe and conservative. I would rather give up the occasional big play than let them drive down the field all game. Offense needs to attack down field. I don’t think Bama’s DBs are better than LSU’s WRs. Let Josh Williams pound the inside, and Daniels needs to just do his thing. His confidence is sky high, right now. Daniel’s ability to escape pressure will be a big factor in this game.
