We scored 36 points and we didn't score twice inside the 5 yard line. Easily could have been 50 points. Sure, we were sloppy, but goes to show that our baseline offense is quite good.

Edit: For all of you who are dense, this post is not meant to say that "all is good in the world" and that this team has no serious issues. Don't be ghey. This was just a side remark that Kelly mentioned about mistakes in the red-zone. Thought it was an interesting thought that is incongruent with the absolute melting that's going on about our offense at the moment.

Also had 2 pick 6’s called back. He can cherry pick all he wants to make himself feel better

I think Daniels spoiled this offense in terms of goal line offense. He was a straight up cheat code. Taylor is pretty money in those situations and we need to get more creative with the run game. I believe in Sloan, but he's learning too.

We just need to score before getting into the redzone...

We move the ball up and down the field but we are bad at situational offense. we also haven't been ripping off huge 50 yard TDs either so we get ourselves inside the 10 and then can't bring it home.

And yet even with those we almost put up 50 points lmao. You're making my point. Even playing a super sloppy game, we put up a ton of offense against an SEC away team

Not really the hallmark of a good team. We need to get our identity nailed down before it’s too late.

Goes to show you how hard it is to win on the road in the SEC. 5 plays go differently and you could be looking at a 50-12 LSU win. A few plays go the other way and LSU gets blown out.

ETA: it's not just LSU either, UK/UGA also, and we're only in week 3. Most teams haven't even played an SEC game yet.

Great.

We also gave up 150 rushing yards on two runs when it was readily apparent to everyone watching the game that USC could not, and would not, throw the ball.

I never said there wasn't other issues with the team dude. Don't take a quote out of context and think Kelly isn't focusing on that side of the ball. It was just a side remark that I thought was interesting

If you have trouble in the red zone in one game because of sloppy play that day that’s one thing. But if it continues to happen in more than one game I think you need to consider it a problem. I’ve backed BK but I didn’t like hearing this from him.

use a fullback, I formation, QB sneak, something, anything other than our terrible short yardage run plays.

No. He had one. The other was caused by the blatant penalty.

New OC and new skill players. It will take time for the offense to move smoothly.

It's not just losing JD. 2 games in and Nabers and Thomas are their teams' leading and best WRs. You don't replace that easily. Diggs was a seasoned RB as well.

Durham looks legit and Anderson is showing signs of the player we hoped he would be. Nuss is still learning. Nothing truly replicates game speed. He needs time for the game to slow down for him.

2 games and a bye will hopefully get the offense and defense in a better place.

No you are making his point. You can cherry pick whatever you want. On the other side of the ball, you gave up 33 points and 398 yards to an already bad offense without their starting QB for half the game.

Also getting inside the 5 yard line and not scoring isn’t a good thing. And to be clear, I don’t think our offense is bad but they definitely have to improve.

Literally no one said that was a good thing. Are you dumb? No one is saying there isn't issues with the defensive side of the ball. What's wrong with you?
