Has nothing to do with Daniels. JD was in his second year with two first round receivers. This team has a first time starter QB, green receivers, a bad center, and a first time OC calling plays. Everything is different. They will get better and our goal line offense will too. Doesn't need to be a Heisman 5th year starter to make that happen.
You can't discount JD's transformation. His athleticism created a major problem for every DC he faced and opened up the offense. Even if you take away his running, as a passer he has the CFB all time single season passing efficiency (208.0). By comparison Burrow was 202 in 2019.

I said has nothing to do with Daniels. My point is that we don't need a Heisman QB to improve our red zone efficiency. QB isn't the problem in the red zone.

Notice 2 things in our run game.
1. It was non-existent before putting Durham in.
2. We appeared to be more successful running up the left side vs. right (which is where BK has liked to go before this game).

USC could not, and would not, throw the ball.
And don't forget that their QB was no longer an option to run the ball on that last long run

Since we were all thinking it was the oline that unfortunately means our other backs are just not very good.

I knew when Major got that scoop on the fumble and didn’t score we wasn’t gonna score

Plus we won’t see two end rushers this good, on the same team, the rest of the year.

I think Daniels spoiled this offense in terms of goal line offense. He was a straight up cheat code. Taylor is pretty money in those situations and we need to get more creative with the run game. I believe in Sloan, but he's learning too.
The scoring plays in the red zone were l really good and well executed- RPO to Lacy, PA pass to Taylor that was wide open and the misdirection motion before Williams’ TD to close.
But the ones that didn’t work were a problem. The drive we got stuffed on featured a wide-open Lacy where he and Nuss weren’t on the same page with the route read. The T formation runs didn’t work and the PA probably would have, but we didn’t execute it right and Nuss got knocked over and had to dump the ball.
That all has to get better and Kelly has to go ahead and take the 3 early in the game.

use a fullback, I formation, QB sneak, something, anything other than our terrible short yardage run plays.
They scored on a play under center in I vs Nichols and ran three times under center out of a T formation this week. They are trying some shite.
They do need to be willing to have Nuss pull at the goal line. He would have walked in on one of the stuffed runs up the middle. I would love to see that triple option we ran with Daniels where we have the dive, the QB read, and the option of the pass to Taylor in the flat. Taylor is a reliable target, so Nuss wouldn’t have to run if he pulls it and rolls.

we were lucky to win that game, no matter what.

[You gave up 33 points and 398 yards to an already bad offense]. That also scored 33 point’s against Kentucky’s defense that shut down Georgia’s offense. If Kentucky had any offense at all they would have given Georgia their first SEC loss in 44 games

Still a work in process. We need to be putting up 500 yrds per game with our D ranked at 91

We move the ball up and down the field but we are bad at situational offense. we also haven't been ripping off huge 50 yard TDs either so we get ourselves inside the 10 and then can't bring it home.
To be fair, every coach, player, and analyst says repeatedly how hard it is to move the ball and score in the red zone when the field is so small.
Yes we need to do better, but this is not a challenge that is unique to LSU.
As others have said, Daniels was a cheat code in the red zone bc he’d pull it and run it in. He alleviated a lot of that problem.

Hester has been harping on it all season. The backs needed to do more. They were running into blockers, not seeing openings, not breaking tackles and making folks miss. Durham did all that.
Someone here yesterday posted a pic of Kaleb Jackson running through big hole and rather than cut into the opening just lowered his shoulder and ran into the only defender that had a shot of tackling him.
Durham showed the right way to do it.

No you are making his point. You can cherry pick whatever you want. On the other side of the ball, you gave up 33 points and 398 yards to an already bad offense without their starting QB for half the game.
Also getting inside the 5 yard line and not scoring isn’t a good thing. And to be clear, I don’t think our offense is bad but they definitely have to improve.
Man you are Boozeie in my book. Are you drunk all the time? Why even watch LSU if you are so fricking negative no matter what. We are 2-1 and just beat a really good team at their stadium who were sky high and played their best game. The Cocks destroyed Kentucky and Georgia struggled to beat Kentucky by 1 fricking point.

He had already started throwing the ball when the horse collar happened. If he pulls that ball down mid throw he probably fumbles it.

14 points and 150ish yards came on 2 plays. 10 more points came off of a fumbled snap and blocked punt. South Carolina basically had one sustained drive game and that was the opening possession. LSU spent most of the 1st half getting punched in the face and still won.
The game was sloppy and definitely needs to be cleaned up if LSU wants to compete with the top teams in the conference, but there was also a lot of good things that happened in that game that are being ignored by the chicken littles.
