He talked MB into staying when he first got here.
Through spring ball he started to realize MB’s priorities were changing and OLine wasn’t there yet
Insert JD5
It’s not that hard to understand

I wouldn't be so sure of that!

So we got Daniels instead of some of the more polished qbs in the portal?
such as?
only Caleb Williams is tearing it up
Jt Daniels and Slovis haven't been very good
Dart who we tried to get as been ok for Ole Miss - they win because of their transfer RBs

Obviously he knew we needed help at QB, and Daniels might provide that help.
You act as if we had a loaded QB room when we all watched our QBs struggle mightily for two years. You couldn’t see we needed help?
JD is a horrible QB and adds no stability.

I guess you didn’t understand my question or maybe I wasn’t clear enough. I know we needed help but wanted to know why Daniels was his choice.
Why do you think Daniels was his only choice? I am pretty sure we pursued other options as well.
And it's not like Daniels did poorly at ASU. His last year was not good but that team was getting more and more dysfunctional and he was coming off an injury from the previous season. If he was averaging 8.7 YPA and 14.36 YPC here, would people be so upset right now? Those numbers would have him 22nd and 15th in those categories, respectively.
He is what he is, a stopgap. I think the hope was that with the high-quality receivers at LSU he would return to his Freshman form but he has not at this time.

Gotcha, that’s why I asked, wasn’t sure if we were turned down by other qbs first before deciding on Daniels.

There’s a lot more stability at the QB position now than there was in 20 and 21.
Kelly picked his guy and he’s going with him,
Under O it was week to week for various reasons. At the very end we had to start a WR. Things are way more stable now.

BS, into 2021 Max Johnson threw for 2815 yards 27 TD and 6 INTs. JD will not do that well this year and he is a 4th year starter.
You need to watch Rohan Davey and Macaske break down JDs passing.
Hint he is horrible

BK said Daniels’ experience and mobility were top factors. BK must have seen Brennan was the better passer but may have thought Daniels would develop his passing ability well enough to make him the starter. I think if BK could go back to January knowing what he knows now he would have never tried to get Daniels to LSU. His comments about WH are as close as he’s going to get to admitting his mistake. Howard is our future starter and I don’t think BK will make the same mistake. At least, I hope not.

BK projected Myles’ heart wasn’t in it and the OL would be a work in progress. He understood the situation very quickly.
Then proceeded to develop the QB with lower ceiling but more experience.
Cant blame him, but he could make a switch now to try and keep Nuss

Who should he start over Daniel’s based on what he see in practice, film room, and playbook executions.
Posted on 10/13/22 at 9:25 am to Bayou nights
He was after him while still at ND. He stayed on him once hired here. Why? Who fricking knows. Said it 100 times....the daniels move is a disaster for the tram, especially the qb room.

Max bailed a week after Kelly was hired. He never competed against Daniels. He left for greener pastures. He had nothing to do eith Daniels.

No I don’t. I can watch the games myself. I see Daniels is an average passer on a good day.

I think they didn't want to walk into the apparent disarray left in Baton Rouge.

Who? Name some. Williams and Ewers were never possibilities here. Dart hasn’t been that great as a passer either at OM. Who else was there available after signing day who had starting experience and the recruiting ranking that Daniels had? He was the #2 dual threat QB in his class.
We all know how it’s worked out in hindsight, but that doesn’t he mean he didn’t look like the best available at the time.

Had Daniels been in the portal when Kelly got the job it's possible (maybe likely) he never tries to get Brennan to stay at LSU.
This may be true, but I think he still would have reached out to Brennan to build whatever depth that he could.

Daniels = stability and allows us to start building a foundation and get through this season while making progress.

Remind me what their records were 6 games into the season.
Who plays on the better team and how have they fared against their one common opponent this year?
And screw Johnson, he quit on LSU so why is this even relevant?

I don't think anyone is saying JD is a Heisman candidate at this point, only that the risk/reward equation favors Daniels over Nuss on this team.
