Does anyone know why exactly he wanted Daniels? Had he previously recruited him? It seems he would have known he wasn’t a reliable passing qb. Just wondering if any of y’all had any insight as to why he went after him. Thanks

BK projected Myles’ heart wasn’t in it and the OL would be a work in progress. He understood the situation very quickly.

If that’s the case numb nuts then why did he beg Myles not to transfer! I swear y’all people are something else!

Daniels = stability and allows us to start building a foundation and get through this season while making progress.

Obviously he knew we needed help at QB, and Daniels might provide that help.

You act as if we had a loaded QB room when we all watched our QBs struggle mightily for two years. You couldn’t see we needed help?

Because they didn't have Daniels yet and you couldn't go into the season with a redshirt freshman and true freshman at quarterback.

So we got Daniels instead of some of the more polished qbs in the portal?

He challenged Myles and told him he would have the opportunity to compete. Given Myles previous experience with LSU, he was the front runner going in. Myles eventually quit because his heart wasn't in it and he wasn't a good fit for the new systems being implemented.

You can spin your own narrative all you want, but those are the facts.

You’re the one that’s something else. Is it better to have daniels, Myles, Nuss, and Howard or daniels, Nuss, and Howard.

I guess you didn’t understand my question or maybe I wasn’t clear enough. I know we needed help but wanted to know why Daniels was his choice.

Which qbs were left in the portal when JD came in.

We're there any that we're more polished. I really don't recall

BK, in his long and tenured experience, knows Daniels gives us the best chance to win.

Next question.

I don’t have a list of available QBs, but Daniels came over right before spring practice.

They could have whiffed on others, or they didn’t start looking until they had evaluated where they were.

Who could we have gotten?

Brenner Boiz won't take too kindly to this

Honestly I’m not sure, I thought maybe Gabriel or Dart might have been an option during that time period but I could be wrong.

It's unfortunate, but I think with all his injury setbacks, it was too much to overcome. The guy was basically ripped in half in the Mizzou game.

When Kelly took the job Brennan was already in the portal. Johnson would enter it shortly thereafter. And Nussmeier had already decided to sit the rest of the season, including the bowl game where he would have started, in order to preserve his redshirt and keep all options open in the event he wanted to transfer elsewhere in light of the fact the staff that had recruited him to LSU was now gone. Also, Daniels was NOT in the portal at that time. So, essentially, BK was having to recruit a QB for this year's team. Brennan had not transferred elsewhere yet, and given his long ties to Louisiana and the LSU program, he seemed like the most logical place to start that recruitment.

Brennan ultimately decided to stay. As did Nussmeier. LSU was probably prepared to go forward with those two and Howard...until a 3 year starter at ASU (Daniels) entered the portal. He presented something to Kelly that wasn't available when Kelly initially recruiting Brennan to stay. Significantly more experience than any other QB on LSU's roster, as well as a running threat. So Kelly brought him in. Had Daniels been in the portal when Kelly got the job it's possible (maybe likely) he never tries to get Brennan to stay at LSU.
